KTO airbases including North Korea for Tacview
-
Dear all,
why: I fly/takeoff/land on North Korea area but most airbases in North Korea are missing in Tacview
how: I manually read the GPS coordinate (FalconGPS) from Mission Commander, converted to falconXY cooordinate, and reconverted to TacviewGPS.
what: it includes all runway including airbases, strips in KTO and ILS for available ruwnay, and Tacan/Vortac
refs: MC/WDP ; Korea AIP by Windblow ; Reddog’s interactive map (thanks)
install: the attached file (AllKoreaAB.zip) is unzip, and AllKoreaAB.xml is put into the folder of Tacview program (Tacview/Data/StaticObjects/)
comments:
South Korea ILS drawings are overlapped with them of Windblow so u might choose one of two.
South Korea airbase are hardcoded by Tacview program so they cannot remove (the names of AB and runway drawings are overlapped)
ILS orientations are correctly aligned ; ILS range is set 10nm and localizer/glide slope widths are 10/2 degrees, respectively ; glide slope is slant to 3 degrees ; parallel ILSs gives different colors
Some TACAN locations are correctly positions to my knowledgeAny questions and comments are welcome.
Mandumi airbase
North Korea airbases
Samjiyon airbase
Sunan airbase
Thanks,

Dear all,
I made this as mentioned on the upper post for BMS 4.3x? and recently have updated KTO airbases, (Osan, Daegu, Gangneung, Gimhae and etc), included Incheon, Musan, and made all airbases and airstrips in North Korea according on 4.37. It includes ILS, TACAN and VORTAC, also.
Some example airbases.
Incheon (ICN ; new included airbase ; ILS position and direction included if available)
Osan (two parallel AB ; recently updated ; grey one is hard coded runway supplied from Tacview)
Kalma (recently remodeled and name changed AB)
Sunan (non parallel AB ; three ILS systems)
Samjiyon_up (the highest AB in Korea ; other NK ABs included)
- Install: download and unzip Tacview_KTOAB.zip and put it into the folder of Tacview program (Tacview/Data/StaticObjects/).
- Uninstall: just delete
- Not all airbases has not been updated. It requires the manual job and I am not sure which one changed, in particular SK ABs. Please let me know if u need.
- This is used to check for landing procedure, overhead landing, arc turn, proper check for ILS capturing, touchdown position, and etc via Tacview. The following youtube is about landing on Samjiyon AB with the condition on three high situation, gross weight, altitude, and temperature.
Any questions and comments are welcome.
Thanks, -
