Terminators Voice Attack Package V1

Also, is it possible to set VA up where you don’t have to hit the PTT twice to activate/deactivate it? In other words, can I just hold the button down and then let off rather than have to push it once to activate and again to deactivate (like it works in IVC?)
EDIT: nevermind, found the setting in VA.

Hi Terminator
how do I put a common phrase into all F16 call sign profiles - I use “cockpit illumination” for night time ramp starts - turns on the in pit flash light ;0)
Unfortunately there is no quick way to add a command to all Callsign Profiles simultaneously the way the package was build. But I can tell you how I would do it:
First, in VA, select one of the profiles, say “Avenger”. Select edit and add the new command with keypress, so for the command (When I Say) type “cockpit Illumination” and for the command (Key Press) “N” (I guess you use NVG?). Enter Description and Category by choice and press Ok. After you edited the Avenger-Profile export the profile and save the Avenger-Profile.vap file.
Now find the “Terminators Voice Attack Profile V1.vax file you downloaded before, change the extension to zip and unpack. This will unpack to a sound directory and 16 profile files. Replace the Avenger-Profile.vap with the one you exported before. Then open the new Avenger-Profile.vap with Notepad(++) and search for “cockpit illumination”. Now look for the first “<command></command>” above the search result and select everything from this “<command></command>” till the first “” down (including “<command></command>” and “”), then copy the selected text. Finally open all other profiles and paste (insert) the selection into the profiles under a “” line and save.
After you edited all profiles, ZIP all profiles and sound folder into a new zip file. After you created the ZIP file, change the extension back to .vax again. The new package is now ready to import in VA again.
Keep in mind that VA will not overwrite the existing profile listing but will rename the new files (adding a number). So you better delete the existing profiles from VA first before importing.
Of course you can also just edit each profile at a time in VA [emoji3]
Good luck!!

Ok thanks…and just $10? Question: I use a very good desktop mic on PTT (ears get sore with headphones). Does anyone know if VA picks up background noise and transmit false orders? That would be the only hold up for me. Thanks again.
I use VA and also have my sound coming through my speakers…no problems here.

Thanks Terminator, very good profile, nicely done! This tool is quite good, but I miss one feature before I will use it online as well. Think it was mentioned earlier, but has anyone found a way to “hack in” two push-to-talk keys? (Home && End/UHF && VHF) I can’t seem to add VA key-macro’s that can link to this feature. I think it could be solved quite easily by a secondary/stand-alone key-macro tool, so if anyone has any recommendations, please fire away.
(i.e. Home And End point by key-macro to “ctrl+alt+shit+home” which is the PTT button)

editing each profile in VA will be the way forward for me … many thanks for the profile, much more comprehensive and therefore more immersive than the one I wrote !!!

FYI tried it both ways, with my desktop mic and headset. Worked fine with both so I’m using my desktop mic.

Based on Terminators Voice Attack Package V1. Combined all F-16 callsigns into one profile. You can use any callsign and VA will still correctly recognize the commands. Fixed four commands that are missing in Terminator package, and changed the phrase used to be more inline with Darkman’s & Dee-Jay’s VAC profile.
In the package are two versions.
Lite-AWACS and Tanker have no package number, F-16 callsign and package number must be said in full. Minimal CPU usage 150-200MB RAM.
Full-AWACS and Tanker can have package number (or not), F-16 callsign and package number can be totally omitted. Minimal CPU usage but eat 750-800MB of RAM. -

The reason I didn’t choose to include all callsigns in one single profile is the fact I don’t like that you still get response when using the incorrect callsign. Bonus advantage is the lower memory load. But for sure this will work also and people can have a choice in what to use now.
Note:
The commands added or fixed to Terminators Voice Attack Package V1
-Fixed ‘Go Cover’ in wingman commands as in Terminator’s profile it activates ‘Go Shooter’ instead
-Add ‘Weapons hold’, ‘Break left’, and ‘Go Stack’ that are missing from the flight commandsTanks for the in depth check of my profile package, I will update and correct the package soon.

I can’t get request autonomous approach or straight in approach to work with Sanpats’…otherwise great job!

In Sanpats profile you need to use the phrases:
Request Landing
or
Request Visual Approach
or
Short Final
or
Final
or
Final Approach.Greetz,

Greetz,
Terminator. Thanks to your excellent profile. If not for your profile I wouldn’t have the good basis to modify upon. I doubt I can start from scratch.
The choice to use all callsigns in one profile is indeed a trade off. All-in-one profile is not better to use, it’s less accurate and use more memory but more convenient to make changes. I am even consider going back to multiple profiles approach like yours in the future.
The key point to make my own profile is that I want an option to use AWACS and tanker package numbers, and an ability to omit details if want to do so.
Thanks again!

Before I use Voice Attack, I’ve been using VAC with Dee-Jay profile. So I change commands to use phrases that I’m used to.
Voice Attack allows dynamic command that can make it more realistic to use IMHO.

If you are using you HOTAS, the way I do it is have a toggle switch to turn on and off VA. Another way is to assign to UHF and VHF buttons, in addition to their DX buttons push, a VA PTT key. For example, if your UHF and VHF issue DX button #10 and 20. And VA PTT is F8. Just use target or joystick gremlin app to make it issue DX19+F8 and DX20+F8 respectively.
For keyboard commands Home+End, you may have to use something like autohotkey or other key macro apps.

Thanks for your suggestion sanpats, I managed to get it working in a similar way but the tool is apparently quite flexible so that it’s possible to do this in a much more elegant way. VA provided excellent support on the matter I have to say:

Thanks for the link. I find using Joystick gremlin is easier as the method in the link requires copy-paste 2 lines of script to every commands that the PTT suppose to activate. With about 200 commands that would be quite tedious.

Its not a requirement, its more like an extra feature to add certain functions for UHF and VHF only. If not needed, you can simply omit the PTTChannel integer in the example.

How to make it work with DX buttons? Or is it only applicable to keyboard?

Good question… I have a foxy profile where my UHF and VHF buttons bind to the Home and End keys, which in turn work with BMS, TS, OBS and now VA.
I think however that you can make it work with DX as well. Haven’t tried yet but try and find out to what your joystick number and button number identifies to in VA and try and replace {STATE_KEYSTATE:LALT} in the example with {STATE_JOYSTICK1BUTTON:buttonNumber}. (from VoiceAttackHelp.pdf page 133) -
Terminator and Sanpats - big big thanks !!!
These profiles are just great (I use Sanpats + a few of my own commands) “Quit Mission” “End Mission” that sort of thing so I don’t have to use the key board at all.
For those that don’t have or use VA - buy it !! its only a few £ $ what ever and it really adds to the realism and keeps your hands off the key board - for those with the free version, you cant import a profile of this size so buy the full version - trust me I am a fat bloke !!! its well worth it.

Could you point me in the right direction how to incorporate this into ‘Morphine &Full BMS Gastone’ warthog script please. I am a complete dummy in regard to script editing and creating :help:
Best regards.
