Park Brake Issue
-
When I try to take off in the f-18C I push the throttle forward to afterburner and my park brake engages. I’ve checked the toe brake settings for my pedals and they are not engaged or activated. Ive also checked the settings for my throttle and do not see any bindings to engage the park brake. This results in my aircraft over-running the runway and crashing. I am using the saitek x55. Anyone have or have heard of issues with this?

Hello, mate.
I’m using a X-56, but I’m not having issues of any kind when flying the F/A-18.
Are you in case using any custom settings or mapping, by the way?
With best regards,

I made my own mapping and I havent changed much other than some basic flight controls and a few switches. I guess I could try a completely different layout. A friend of mine uses the same layout as me and has no issues with his park brake engaging. I am wondering if it is not my x55 with ghost button pushes?

if you declared toebrakes axis in the setup ui, ensure you have the reversed axis option checked
(for both toe brakes axis) -
Red Dog that was one of the first issues I discovered and it has been fixed. I move my throttle forward and I can watch the park brake engage as my plane goes into burner. Ive had issues where I accelerate down the runway in afterburner and my speed stalls out at 60 knots then when i disengage and re-engage burner my speed accelerates only to hang somewhere else. This results in a pretty consistent runway over run. I’ve checked to ensure that my plane isnt close to or over Max Gross weight, and it is not. This was an issue before I purchased my pedals.

it sounds like a keystroke generated by your hotas then (my bet still is on toebrakes, not parking brake)
check where the brakes key is generated in your hotas programming
it can’t be the parking brake because this one is automatically deactivated over 83 % RPM (to simulate the magnetic coil of the switch)
(that’s F-16 stuff, not specifically F-18) but i Don’t see any Reason why it woul dbe different in bms with the f-18do you have the same issue when you fly without your hotas and do you have the same issue when you fly the F-16?

So my guess would be on the throttle somewhere. Ive had other phantom buttons activate on the x55 so it wouldnt be surprising. Ill check it out and get back to you.
