Kneeboard DDS on Gimp help
-
hi guys, image is really not my “thing”.
I am trying to create some kneeboard dds files to replace the default ones, but my GIMP dds are too big (around 12MB) in comparation to BMS default (2,7 Mb).
Is there some compression protocol I should use during the export process? Should I also create minimaps (wherever it is)?
thanks in advance

Just use WDP it does the conversion of image to dds for you.
Your input images can be jpg, png, bmp, dds and should be szed 1024x2048 or at least at the same ratio -
Really? Didn’t know that. I thought the only options would be the default WDP ones. Let me give a try.
Thx :yo: -

Could you guide me how to do that? Thanks again

Thanks for the video Oak, but now I am puzzled. I don’t have this WDP version and I don’t know where to find it. this is what my version shows:
The Falcas webpage still shows the old .150 wich I already have.
I tried the search forum without success. Where could I download this version? Is it available already?
Thanks

Save them 2048x2048 in BC1/DTX1 with MIPMAP (Generate MIPMAP option).

Anyway, thanks Oak, I will download again and see what is the problem. Not a big issue.
