What is the best and cheapest current TM Cougar stick mod??
-
I was looking at that DIY gimbal too. I priced everything up & realised I could get a Virpil WarBRD base for just £60 more & all I’d have to do is drop the Cougar handle on & plug it in. Had that since November last year & it’s better that the Cougar ever was even when new.
I’m still looking at the DIY gimbal as a back-up but now have the luxury of time to acquire the parts.

Hi Mower,
I know FCC like mods are not cheap. And a FSSB is even worse, when it comes to it’s price. But did you check the price of the VFS by Vipergear? I have had the same trouble as you and wasn’t willing to pay that much either. I got my Cougar when it came out, and it has giving me a lot of love, serial 1133, and the play took awhile to build up, but eventually it did. I just discovered Vipergear a couple of days ago and I was actually blown away by their price. I mean it’s less then half a FSSB will set you back. Now if you have checked there prices then I have nothing said. I just felt you maybe didn’t. Oh and I’am in no way affiliated with them.
ps: I just saw that I still have my 87th signature here. I haven flown for years, but this mod will get me back into the air.

Installed the Viper gear mod for the stick a month ago and have nothing but good things to say about it.

Hi Guys, I need to jump in here and ask a few questions. Now it’s been 2 years since I’ve flown and I just purchased a Cougar and I in need of some information.
Mower: I’ve been looking a the ViperGear Mod and I’d like to know how long did it take to do the Mod and did you have to do the jumper on the R1 resistor? And what are the results. I’m thinking about pulling the trigger here when payday hits. Thanks Rhino

The force sensing stick mod is stellar and I had no trouble installing it.
The throttle sensor mod, well, being that I suck at soldering, I tried on 2 separate occasions and gave up for fear of wrecking the circuit board that cannot be replaced.

WoW, that’s my fear also, I’m not the greatest at soldering either. Oh, you put in the force sensing stick mod, I can’t go that far with funds this time. I’m just going to pull the trigger on the C-muk mod for right now. And then I’ll do the force sensing. It’s good to hear that force sensing is stellar. I don’t know what I’ll do when I get to the soldering part . I’ll let you guys what happens.

Have you confirmed you need to solder? 2 diffrent board designs means you may get lucky.

Hey Guys, I took my TSQ apart and to my surprise, it looks like the TSQ, has all new potentiometer, So the gentleman I purchased it from sent me the original that came out of it and they all look sane. So I know my stick is way out, so I went ahead and bought the VFS (viper force sensor). My x and Y are so far out it’s not funny.
