GS reading went nuts!
-
Sat on the runway at Pusan and was looking at the DED and watched my GS go from 0 kts up to 1007kts and remain there whilst stationary….
Later in that same flight I fired 2 AIM-9X’s one missed but the other was a direct hit on a MiG-23. It went on fire and exploded. My results didn’t relfect this in the debrief claiming both missiles were a miss.
Thank you again for your dedication and hard work guys….
Perminantly being mind blown!

RQD GS = Required Ground Speed, i.e. the speed you need to fly to reach the steerpoint on time. 1007kts is the max it will indicate (don’t know why it’s 1007 though), and if you check current time and DES TOS, you’ll see you are 5 seconds late already, hence the high speed.
