Graphics setting recommendations for 4.34?
-
Looking at resetting up my graphics settings for 4.34 and wanted to see if anyone had recommendations for the best eye candy? I have an Nvidia GTX1070 btw.
Was looking at using my Nvidia settings vs game graphic settings but wanted to get your thoughts. -
Hi!
I took the fps quest, down the rabbit hole, I found that Focus shadow and water enviroment shadow had a - 20-25 fps effect. Now all is great. With 60+ in Campaign and TE/benchmark test.
This could ofc be a driver-issue on my system.
Good luck!

AA and AF off in sim. 4xMSAA and 16xAF in nvidia settings.
Add hi res textures.
I get mostly 60fps on a 1070 with 4790k. I also use Vsync, max power, and 1 frame ahead. Anything else stutters.
The TGP really hits me hard now compared to 4.33 and the new weather can lose frames when it’s really cloudy.

I also have the 4790K with my 1070 as well. Hi res textures in the config correct? Also 1 frame ahead? what does that mean?

Maximum pre-rendered frames is also a setting in the nvidia control panel. This can reduce input lag.
I have the 4790K and the GTX1070 as well. The TGP is hitting me harder than in 4.33 as well. If the MAV WPN page is open too it can drop to ~25-30 FPS.
I’m using 2xMSAA on a 3440x1440 ultrawide, pre-rendered frames 1, maximum performance and the rest is left on default.

with 2xMSAA wouldn’t TGP hit u?

Pre render answer as above. Hi res yes.
I run 1440p 4xMSAA. My frames are linked to CPU for sure. Only pushing to 4K res drops them lower

Disabling MSAA completely or pushing it to 4x does not affect the framerate too much.
I just realized that the “Focus shadows” cost me about 30-40 FPS. It’s best observed in TR_21_Osan_Taegu. Simply sitting in the cold&dark jet with TIR disabled i have 28-29 FPS as long as all the other planes are taxiing. If I disable “Focus shadows” my FPS are around 70. This is rather much in this situation imo. On the other hand as soon as I’m airborne there are not too many “focus shadows” anymore so the FPS drop is negligible I think. I still need to test that.
The only time I really was disturbed by the low FPS was in 4.33 where about three SA-2’s and one SA-6 where trying to destroy my flight whiles some other jets where having a A2A engagement. There where a lot of smoke trails and other particle effects happening pushing the FPS to a almost unplayable/unenjoyable value.
edit: Another thing I just noticed is that the FPS hit is just so high if there is high cloud coverage. Modifying the TR_21 weather to have sunny weather I get almost the same FPS as with “focus shadows” disabled. The paradox part about it is that because of the overcast there is no harsh shadows so you cannot see any shadows on the ground anyway if there is overcast. I’m wondering if this is just a engine limitation or if there’s maybe something going wrong and that affects performance.

Well all u describe is normal. Unfortunately if u want the whole package on 4k with the 1070 u ain’t going anywhere.
Vertical resolution increase beyond the 1080 standard requires stronger - faster hardware.
U should go for a 980ti or a 1080ti.Στάλθηκε από το MI 5 μου χρησιμοποιώντας Tapatalk

Are you referring to me? I’m not running 4k and I have no ambitions to do so.
Aside from that, the “focus shadow” FPS hit in combination with cloud coverage is not necessarily a bug, but since there are no shadows drawn with this overcast (or are too soft to be seen) maybe there is potential for optimization (culling of some sort). A BMS dev would have to chime in and shed some light on that I guess. -
Greetings From Turkey, I have a FPS problem too. My Pc Config is I7 4820K 16GB RAM 1600mhz 500GB WD Blue SSD Asus 1060 3GB Display Card. When I approaching to Ground War area FPS is drop 30fps If TGP is opened is going 20fps. What can I do for this? Thanks for your help.

For start, disable focus shadows, under bms config editor
-
Try VSync “Adaptive” or “Half Refresh Rate” … etc … I had some strange lower FPS when using VSyncOFF compared to the others settings (out of VSync On).
-
Thanks for answers. Now I take 35-40 fps. This is normal FPS rate for this with my PC configuration or Low?
-
If the ground war involves lots of battalions in a small area, then yes its normal. Just wait a bit until less battalions remain, if you can’t tolerate the situation. Or choose temporarily per vertex to gain few fps

What is that Focus shadows option for ?

Hey bro’s, Just trying to get setup for 34. On 4.33 with a 1080p monitor I was getting fluid fps on campaign with 8gb ram, i72600k and gtx 570. My gpu has died recently, what should the snarble go for the new GPU, 1050? I have a budget of around £250 euro’s.
