Do you have to be a member to download…..
-
Hi! Someone I know is trying to get into falcon BMS but can’t because he can’t register to be a member, can’t get the confirmation email, he actually send an email about the situation. So I told him that I thought he didn’t need to be a member since the full bms 4.34 installer was/is a public file, maybe I’m wrong. Anyway when he tries to download the installer he gets a message saying that he as no permission to access this page
What could be wrong?
Thanks, Marc…

Can you send him the torrent file…?

I find it strange that registration is essentially required to get Falcon BMS. There is a post in public section about the release, but the actual release post (linked there!) is members-only.

Because we are a special kind of club… a sort of community… if you will….

You may disagree but Forum membership as a prerequisite to access the software seem reasonable to me.

Not really different than any pay software, need to have a Steam account, Origin account, DCS account, etc… Except our beloved software is free except for the Falcon 4 fee if you need it.

Yeah and you don’t need any shitty software where you cannot put a limit how much bandwitch it’s using. Like Epic failure.

Can’t say I agree with that practice, either (it certainly wasn’t like that when the original Falcon 4.0 came out…). It got to the point where you need two mostly useless accounts to play certain games. In singleplayer.
It’d be somewhat more understandable if the installation file was hosted on a server with limited bandwidth or something, so that it’d serve to limit download traffic. However, with the primary download being a torrent, I’d expect you’d want the exact opposite.
