Virpil T-50 Throttle - Axis is Inverted
-
Got a new throttle. Works as expected in every flight sim I have (DCS, IL-2, RoF, XPlane) but in BMS my throttle axis is inverted and BMS has no tick box to invert it.
Does anyone know if theres a file that I can edit directly?

You could look at using software to create a virtual throttle for BMS which has the axis oriented correctly? Something like Vjoy perhaps?

Entering Virpil T-50 Throttle in the Search box brought up this thread: https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?37096-Virpil-Throttle-Inverted&highlight=Virpil+T-50+Throttle

RESOLVED:
The VPC throttle’s factory default configuration has the left throttle axis inverted. Run the VPC config application, load your profile, select AXIS’s, and change the value (check or uncheck) on the Inverted tick box. Note that the Right quadrant should remain inverted. Save the profile.
Hope this helps someone else who has this throttle and was confused like me.

Hi, good piece of advice. I got the same throttle (waited for almost two months) and the throttle axis threw me off as well. For a high quality piece of kit like that sure is a strange mistake.
Anyway, in case you run into issues with the 32 key limit with BMS, I have had good experiences by making the VPC software construct 5 virtual devices and using Alternative Launcher for mapping so that BMS can recognize all the physical buttons on the throttle.

Funny you mention that! I just tried to map the emergency jettison switch to the round one on the throttle and it’s not seeing it, so I’m assuming this is beyond BMS’s limit. I have Alt Launcher installed. I hesitate to go the virtual device route because I also play IL-2 and DCS and don’t want to have to re-map all of those controls. Do you fly other sims?

Hi, no other sims for the moment at least. Thinking about FS2020 but don’t tell anyone
But if/when I do, this is what I would do: The VPC software allows you to have more profiles, so you could set up a profile in the VPC software exclusively for BMS which divides the throttle controls out to 5 virtual devices. Each of those devices are then visible in alternative launcher. So when you fly BMS you switch to that profile in VPC beforehand. For the other sims which do not have the 32 key limit you stay on the default profile.
Other people who are not using Virpil hardware use Joystick Gremlin for this virtual device thing, but I figured that since VPC supports it natively it is better to use that than inject another piece of software into the mix.

You also may want to take a look at Alternative Launcher, you can Invert/Set Deadzone/Set Saturation all in the Axis Assignment area… great piece of work, makes button assignment a breeze also…
