Windows 10 and BMS 4.34
-
all of my GPU drivers are up to date. I haven’t changed anything in my Nvidia control panel, and don’t use Geforce Experience. I downloaded and installed both U1 and U2 for 4.34. Still the same problem. How do I upload the crashlog dmp file, as mentioned in several posts above? I also tried with all my security features off.
-
Zip the dump file and upload it somewhere, it’ll become pretty small.
-
Who should I upload it to at Benchmark Sims, so they can analyze it? Anyone have an email or something?
-
I’d upload it to some file service and share the download link in your bug report.
Cheers, Uwe

This seems as Win/Api ntdll error., something with graphics …
But also , something like some texture file missing…
Stubborn one.
Just wandering , do you have all VCredist(s) installed, in “Programs and features” … it is f*ing longshot …
still DO a crashlog dump upload , let them run dump through a debug … so its readable
-maybe you could try this what He suggested
https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?38445-Windows-10-and-BMS-4-34&p=532966&viewfull=1#post532966-And do a Video driver re-install, but go 1 version before , like from February , so uninstall current driver then install OLDER driver - then we’ll see if it happens again, … I know, it is beach , but , what can you do… … after you can just upgrade to a more current driver
-
When I get some time, will work on uploading the dump file. Not sure what the Vcredit diet are, but will look into that. I am a bit nervous about uninstalling video driver and installing an older one. The one I have now works awesome with Prepar3d v4.5 and DCS, and don’t want to mess that up. I did it once on Windows 7, and it messed up my graphics.
-
Well Of course it will mess with graphics , you’re re-installing a video driver. BUT! however nothing BAD will happen , … it will not cause any system crash or win-reinstall or similar.
Re-installing a video driver today is like having a breakfast. - everything is automatic , you just need to run it.
You have Nvidia right ? , so go on their site and find older driver version , like from February 2020 , download it. … leave it in “Downloads” - REMEMBER file-name and version numbers
Run “Apps and features” (Add or remove programs) , search in cortana if you can’t find it. Find Nvidia or something (I have AMD) in that list of installed software - click on it AND click “Uninstall”
Confirm “Uninstall” if you need to , complete uninstall/remove from the computer. - after you’ll need to restart manually or maybe it will also be automatic.
On that next reboot SCREEN WILL BE IN LOW RESOLUTION , THAT"S NORMAL - as no video driver is configured for your video card …
Windows will automatically try to install its own Nvidia driver , OR MAYBE with Win10 you never know , IT WILL EVEN TRY TO DOWNLOAD NEW DRIVER and install it - SO, WATCH OUT - AS WE DON’T WANT THAT - remember , we have our drivee we want to try out
When system completes booting , goto “Downloads” and RUN (2click) that driver we downloaded (from february) and let it install - probably another reboot after it completes …
But that’s IT . - Nvidia control panel will probably bitch that there’s new driver available , but just ignore it - you can always do that after
Now try running BMS and tell us a story …
Cheers
-VCredist(s) are like “drivers” for VC/++ written programs , even Windows and BMS are written in C , so you need those whatever the case
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads
you can download those packs for x86 and x64 (you DON’t need ARM64 - not your CPU) , then install , just overwrite again if they are installed - probably they already are , but we want latest, clean

OK, here is the link to the crash and dump files, in a folder I called BMS. https://1drv.ms/u/s!AhiypntKj1JtghqbTlvAjboXcBJ8?e=OKqsMl
-
Any coder with Benchmark sims able to look at my crash log and dump file in link above?
-
Unfortunately, the problem with the dump file is that the crash is in the generic C++ area, i.e not in a BMS function, so it’s not possible to track that code directly via the dump.
I want however to try something else with you since this is a special case. I will contact you later with details.
