It’s still alive although it is going slowly. I’m actually working today on some further terrain textures as we speak(for a crossover Theater) but will also be incorporated into the existing Libya Theater.
ATM, if you’re interested in flying in the desert, get IT-BMS, although it’s a WIP Theater, the desert terrain by Polak is beautiful no doubt. It will keep you satisfied for now.

Does the size look okay to you’s? I swore that I scaled it down correctly, maybe it’s just a rough area that I’m sourcing from but wanted to get the multiple rows of waves in there for the majority of the coast. In the process of upgrading the coastline. Don’t want to get the whole thing done only to have it all wrong!
The only area I’m concerned with is the shoreline and the waves, the rest of the tile will be blended into different textures. The bordering tiles are hand drawn, I finally put some software back on the computer for grabbing imagery since I got frustrated trying to add villages/city tiles in game. Sat imagery just didn’t look right sitting on/near my farm tiles so I’m going forward with photo realistic tiles and I haven’t heard any news about the auto trees or buildings so… a lot quicker using reference images anyways!

Thanks, it looks as though it should work out. I did a very quick blend, duplicated and filled out my canvas to see how it’d shape up. The water color has been darkened just because it was it was easier to do it that way at the moment but this is getting close to the look I’m aiming for.
With the shrub tile blended into the coast it looks a lot better.

That water color is growing on me. Need to smooth out the shapes a bit too but that’s for another day. Cleared the island for a screenshot and now back to my cave I go!

Very nice! Patiently waiting, lol. That’s the reason I decided to start working on the textures for the moment too since I’m awaiting that info so I can more accurately tile the theater. I’m already assuming that I’m going to have to redo a lot of the coastline that I’ve already laid down once I get that info but it is what is.

That way I can refer to the theater preview instead of bouncing back n forth between GE and TE.
Still got plenty of tiles to create, recreate, but would like to get started on some tiling here n there as well!

Those aren’t the correct coordinates. That’s the old Libya theater coords, and the ones that I’ve tried using already, this Libya has been extended a bit on the SE corner.

Using those coordinates I finally decided to plug the theater’s map into gis and this is how much we’re off by.
The half opacity is the area of op.
Now, I can go forward with given coordinates and we can just adjust everything or I can wait a bit and hopefully get the correct coordinates from demer when I’m back from vacation. This puts us at a stand still for the time being though because we should not tailor this theater to incorrect coordinates. Today, I’ll finish up cleaning the bin file I suppose and than do another cleaning on the texture file to eliminate all unnecessary dds’s but I won’t be back in action until around new years at which point I won’t be thinking clearly for a few days! lol

One other thing, how do I change the map that’s displayed in the TE screen and campaign box? I’d like to use the nasa imagery for that to see how it looks, if it looks good than I can overlay some info on top of that!

??? Before you were saying it was off in the SE corner, now your showing a pic and describing it is off in the NW corner where the opacity area is??
Are you saying that only one corner is off?? And if so, how can that be that the rest of the map isn’t and matches the TacEdit Theater.thr bitmap??
Look at the Eastern side of the map, north and south, it matches your pic and all the way across until your area of opacity appears. How are you coming up with this??

I have a question - is it possible to extend the theater to the north to include most of the air bases used in the NATO led campaign against Libya from 2011?
