WANTED! Retired Old Farts!
-
Bet THAT title got your attention huh?
Here’s the deal. I am trying to put together a group of dedicated FBMS lover’s like myself, that could be available on a regular basis to fly together on weekdays (Mon - Fri) at 8am (US EST)
This would allow everyone to have the rest of the day open to do whatever it is you do in your golden retirement years.
Of course you don’t need to be retired, or old… but just available on a regular basis during this time period.
Experience not an issue. We’ll be happy to help you get up to speed… to insure an enjoyable Falcon experience. -
I resemble that remark
But, since I am retired there is no way I’m getting up at 4:30 am to fly at 5:00 am, no matter how much I love FalconBMS. Great idea though.
I fly on the FO server in the mornings as there is usually someone on there. -
If you don’t know what FO is, visit www.falcon-online.org and register.
-
Great initiative, but I doubt if you will get many European folks out of their bed in midnight
-
??? think again 8am US est would be just your/my ‘old fart after lunch nap time’ here in europe.

Sarge… would you consider 7:30 AM your time… on a regular basis?
If you don’t know what FO is…
Evil… I do…and have been there… but I found it a bit time consuming, setting up the flight and such. We just use ready made TE’s, a quick brief, and get at it. Guess this was wishful thinking on my part, trying to find some regulars that have the free time from the mid east/east USA that would like to get together on a regular basis.
At risk of ticking off a mod… I’ll bump this a few times with my fingers crossed… hope for the best

Alas, I am on the west coast…
-
well, the time would work for me at least.
Not from the US though, and Im not sure a quick brief is what Id be after.

You’re right, the title got me: Old and Retired. Started flying the original Falcon4 back in the day but life has a way of changing your priorities. Discovered BMS by accident two months back and the rest is history; absolutely crazy about this Sim. The work that must have gone into making BMS Falcon what it has evolved into is unbelievable. My sincere thanks to all the individuals who have worked so hard to make BMS Falcon the best! I have never flown with a group before but am willing to give it a go. I don’t know if I would commit to 5 days a week but 2 or3 is possible. The time of day is no problem. Since I have never done this before I would need help.

Hmm those retired old farts can also team up and work on modding and developing stuff. Example real airbase and basic simple 3d models like docks that are mostly 2d and cement areas. If they are not skilled on texturing or unwrapping them sure a second one or a non old fart can do it. There are many videos and tutorials that help out on it… So they can provide the base model and then bms guys I’m sure can manage it later on.

Blu… I may have stated that a bit in general… Let me explain. We’ve had a small group of regulars for several months. We generally have selected a challenging TE, and fly it 1-2 times a day, until we meet all objectives. Initially, yes, we spend quite a bit of time doing a recon of the target… setting up Pre-planned targets… SP 15, 16, 17, etc… discussing loadouts for each flight, setting comms… etc etc… but once this has been done a cpl times, and we’ve all flown the mission before, the briefing time goes rather quickly. One of our regulars has dropped off… as he’s helping another friend learn the Sim… 1 on 1… so right now… there’s 2 of us… looking to expand the ranks and fill the AI spots, that we all know too well… never quite do whats expected.
I don’t know if I would commit to 5 days a week but 2 or3 is possible.
Dr… That would be absolutely fine. In the past we usually do take a day or 2 off… as somebody may have something going on… we’ve always been quite flexable. We have a tentative meeting coming up tomorrow (Monday) morning at 8:00am EST. Check your PM for the details

By all means Arty… these guys could possibly get involved in these areas that you mention. But I’m looking for flying mates.
Feel free to start a thread looking for those interested in heading off in that direction -

@down43, trust me, you don’t want to get into deving, your flying time will surely suffer

Hadn’t reckoned you as a ‘Retired Old Fart’ either. 'Course it can be hard to tell via forum chat.
