No software solutions keypresses are recognized: Helios, MATRIC, Stream Deck app, etc
-
I’ve been trying to setup some kind of Android phone/tablet to the PC. I have tried Helios with Space Deck, MATRIC, Macro Deck, Touch Portal, and Stream Deck’s app. I can get them all to send keystrokes that Windows recognizes but they don’t have an effect in BMS.
Since Helios is the most common solution here, let me run down what I have tried with it. I have tried both straight keypress and adding in my .key. Both commands will send into Windows bit not recognized by BMS. I have also enabled Absolute Touch with Spacedeck, enabled Helios’s “Focus Assist” and QWERTY send option for the keystrokes.

For Helios regardless of running on a Spacedesk or other Monitor if key presses are not recognized by BMS it’s in most cases an issue with user permission. So make sure to run Helios Control Cemter and BMS with the same user rights.
I.e if you run BMS with administrative rights you need to run Helios with administrative rights. Same goes if BMS is running without Helios must run without as well under the same user -
Yeah, I didn’t have it set to run as administrator. But in the process the MATRIC developer recommended trying to map to a VJoy device. That nuked my SST install for the X65F/AV8R. Ilmars in the Win11 discussion thread had recommended a restore point recovery. Tried and now I can’t boot into Windows 10.

Never had any issues running VJoy next to X65F SST

Finally got a restore point to hold. While I’ve only tested in MATRIC because it was the quickest to reinstall and the developer was also trying to help, it seems that its the running as administrator was the issue! I edit the shortcuts to do that so I don’t have to remember to do it later on and then I forget to do it with new stuff
