Hi all, old Falconeer here since Frugalsworld and the original Falcon4.
I’ve been away from this sim for a very long time, and now after all that it has changed I’ve decided to come back to the flightline.

I have some issues in game with the controllers, and looking for some ideas on what could be going on? Here is what’s happening:

It seems as though in sim only, my throttle or my joystick work, but not both. The one selected in setup is the one which works exclusively in the sim. I have loaded the BMS BasicDX TM Warthog file as well but the problem existed before I loaded the file therefore I believe this has no effect on the issue i am seeing.

I have 3 selections in the setup page under controllers

      1. keyboard
      2. Hotas Warthog Joystick
      3. Hotas Warthog Throttle

      Any suggestions?

Yes, that’s not a bad profile to start with until you find what works best for you but I really recommend using the Alternative Launcher program for mapping keys, its so easy to change settings should you decide to alter something you dont like or wish to add. I prefer to use the full BMS file and modify it to suit my tastes.

@badboy45 in the main controller setup page. Set your stick as the controller. In the advanced tab, look for the throttle selection section. Use the drop down to select your throttle. Let us know if it works out

@quasi_stellar Negative. It completely knocks out the joystick in sim. Only the throttle works, however none of the throttle keys.

The former poster is correct, I have a Warthog as well. Its good that the game is detecting both stick and throttle. Select Joystick in the set up panel first…

Then go into advanced and set the throttle axis from the drop down menu, it should be there like this. Dont forget to apply or save it. I also use the Alternative Launcher to map all my hotas keys as well as pinky switch for shift combinations.

@kavelenko this is great. it works. do you recommend i use the BMS default warthog file and load it? i’ve been away for long and don’t even know what i need to assign until i get some flight hours in

He’s right though, set the primary device to your pitch-and-bank joystick and leave it alone. If things don’t appear to work right away don’t panic. Go into advanced and change axes around there as needed.

@badboy45 new issue…

on the axisassign and avionics/radio section i have setup my x & y cursors on the throttle quadrant with the middle finger key. the issue i have is that its very sensitive and makes using the button unstable. inputs in the x axis also move the y axis and vice versa.

any fix to this?

@badboy45 not sure about this, but in the configuration panel before launching Falcon BMS, go to avionics,. cursor speed –> you may slow down cursor speed, this could help you…

@badboy45 Configuration is on the Alternative Launchers launcher page. Look for an Orange icon with CFG marked “config”
