Question about WinWing peripherals
-
Hi eveyone,
Been looking at WinWing as a possible upgrade from my TMWH.Looking at the Orion throttle base with the Viper handle and the Viper stick with the extension. I am also looking at the centre consoles, which while currently only FA18, also look good and an F16 one is rumoured.
My questions are:
-
How well does BMS do picking up all the extra axis on the orion+Viper handle? In particular, does the sim pick up the rotary encoders for, say, course/heading selection (or other axis)?
-
does anyone have any experience with the orion and Viper stick vs the TMWH - is it better or comparable?

- Finally the big question: regarding the centre panels: is there any hope of these working well with BMS or are they more for DCS?

I have the Orion Throttle with the viper grip. Do not have the stick though. Still using my TMWH stick.
To answer your question BMS does work well with the Winwing peripherals. There are a few things you will have to do concerning the cursor axis as they move very fast but I have been very happy with mine since I got it in April.
Feel free to dm me if you need any help setting it up.

@Sharpe Just got my Winwing Orion F-16EX throttle. In answer to your question about course/heading selection, those knobs just fire a button press with each click in each direction. BMS has options for +/-5 and +/-1 for those. I used 1, although 5 might be better.
The issue I am having, so far, is that BMS doesn’t seem to have settings for, for example, “Master Arm On”, “Master Arm Off”, and “Master Arm Sim”. Instead, it’s a toggle. So the 3-way switch doesn’t seem to work very well. Same goes for the autopilot switches.
I’ll keep messing with it though… perhaps there’s a setting I missed. If anyone has any suggestions, I’m all ears.

SimRightAPDownTake a look at the FULL or PITBUILDER .key files. Might want to take a look at Section 10.6 in the Technical Manual too.
