4.37 U2 - Can't save keystrokes
-
Hi, I’m not sure if anyone has experienced/posted this, but I can’t seem to save my throttle keystroke presses in Update 2.
I have a TQS Cougar throttle and I am trying to save my VHF/UHF, Dogfight/MRM and Speedbrake switches to the BMS - Auto keyfile. As soon as I exit and restart BMS, all my changes are gone.
I don’t use Alternative Launcher for any keymapping or axis and the “Launch without any setup override” box is checked when I launch BMS.
Any thoughts or workarounds for this, like using an alternative keystroke file?

@Mosquitoe why on earth would you modify ‘BMS - Auto.key’ when you don’t want to use the Alternative Launcher?
just name your key file something else, and select it within BMS setup/controllers page.
‘BMS-Auto.key’ is the thing AL owns and overwrites.

@airtex2019 , so if I launch BMS using an older keyfile, Alternative Launcher won’t be able to overwrite it?

@Mosquitoe said in 4.37 U2 - Can’t save keystrokes:

Exactly, AL only “play” with BMS-auto.key

the problem is simple, is the alternative launcher, always overwrite, do not use it, just use the normal launcher
I friend of mine went crazy for the same auto key thing…

@Mosquitoe Hi, back in the day when AL was , well, the alternate, people would try to make changes in the standard UI and then wonder why AL overwrote them. My first question is, why don’t you use AL, especially for simple commands like you describe? Perhaps we can help with whatever keeps you from using AL
However, I saw where you launch without using AL, and that you ask about naming other keyfiles. I would suggest not using BMS-Full, as that is what AL used to use to create AUTO.
This is pure supposition, but I wonder if now that AL is standard, could 4.37 have been built to overwrite everything?
