Any pilot programmed x52 pro with Joy2Key and made it work for falcon bms?bms flight control
-
What I really interested in if there is any pilot using j2k for x52pro programming and how to make it work for bms. I programmed all buttons and slides etc. Pressing a button on x52pro I can see on j2k that it is a valid program. If I programmed a button as keyboard “B” that gives back programmed “B”. However, bms does not rekognize button press on flight and does not open airbrakes. As j2k only gives config files even if I copy this in the bms/user/config/basic file it does nothing as it is not a key file. I am looking for a pilot who used j2k and made it to work.

use UCR (universal control remapper) https://github.com/Snoothy/UCR#downloads
and VJOY to create a virtual joystick.
with UCR you can remap all the buttons you need and you can even remap the X-52’s minijoystick

@mlm19390908 why not just map the buttons and axes in the BMS Launcher? what are you trying to do, with Joy2Key?
BMS doesn’t have great keyboard handling … when using external programs like j2k to synthesize key presses, you will likely experience stuck-shift keys, stuck callbacks and it may not work at all in some conditions, eg. if you run BMS as admin.

@airtex2019 This happens with STT Programming Software for X52 as well, as any keyboard keys assigned to buttons are virtual key presses being sent, ofc.
This would also be the same as VoiceAttack commands which press keyboard keys, such as my AVCS4 BMS Radios profile.
The rule is: if you hold down a virtual key and then press other virtual keys, release those others first before releasing the held-down virtual key, in order - either programmatically or physically with your hands (like releasing the Pinky LAST), and ensuring at least 50ms (0.05 seconds) between any press or release action for an individual virtual key.

@airtex2019 Programming with j2k is very easy and fast. I can easily make sliders to have 3 functions, toggle buttons etc. This is the reason why I want to use it. I may have 10 different programs and change into any with a dedicated button in flight. About a year ago I read a post where the pilot described in details how to use it, but at that time I was not interested because I was still struggling with sst. The sst is not a stable sw and i am not alone with this opinion. Bms programming is difficult and slow for me because I am not a computer wizard. Anyhow, thanks very much for your advise.

VoiceAttack commands which press keyboard keys
The radio menus are short, unshifted keypresses … that’s my advice to any 3p software generating keypresses for BMS – try to stick to short, unshifted keys.

@VIPER-0 Thanks for your advise Viper.

@airtex2019 Thanks for pointing it out it probably saves spending time for nothing…

@SemlerPDX Thanks Semler. Great advise.

@VIPER-0 Thanks for your advise Viper.
It is that I always recommend UCR because it is a very simple, very intuitive tool and it gets all the juice out of our peripherals. I am the proud owner of an X-52 Pro and an X-56 Rhino and with UCR I get much more out of it than with the same logitech application.
I have seen many pilots here breaking their heads with these proprietary peripheral programs and the solution is really there and I always tell them UCR.

@VIPER-0 Thanks Viper. You convinced me and shall give it a try when I have some time. Thanks again.
