BMS 4.35 vs newest version and programming x52pro with Joy2Key
-
Hello Pilots. I am only an occasional player and have the bms4.35. Is it worth the trouble to change over to the newest version? If I do should I remove everything from the old version and if yes will you tell how to do it correctly? Regarding my 3 days earlier post I simply can not believe that nobody use(d) Joy2Key for BMS programming of x52pro or other game controllers. Anyhow, those pilots who used it probably did not like it.

Normally the only pain point of upgrading to a new major version, is porting over your control bindings … but it sounds like you haven’t done that yet, so of course – why wouldn’t you want all the latest bug fixes, new features and performance improvements?

Hi, Louis. Let me first say t, especially if you are interested in jets other then the Viper, and in other Theaters then KTO, then 4.37 is extremely worth it.
As for your controls, BMS now comes stock with what used to be the Alternate Launcher, and it works very well. -
@airtex2019 Thanks very much.

@drtbkj Thank you, I’ll follow your advise. Should I remove the 4.35 first or just update to the newest version?

Hi, Louis. You can leave 4.35 in if you like.It will not affect 4.37 or vice/versa. It’s a separate install.
One cautionary note: We’ve talked about the now standard, formerly Alternate, Launcher. I believe it will launch 4.35. I don’t know this however, as I no longer have 35. I do have 4.36 and the Launcher does do that. I mention it only to suggest you keep your current method of launching 4.35 until you’re sure, if you do want to keep it.
Finally, there are a LOT of differences between 35 and 37, so there will be some learning to do. Don’t get frustrated, and you’ll find the BMS Community as helpful as ever with questions you may have
