PRImary objectives control regarding the TRI file - Question
-
Good morning gents.
I keep working on POH campaign, and wanted to give it a try to this command:
#IF_PRI_CONTROLLED_LT [F|E] [number]The purpose of it is just to know wich side (BLUE/RED) did the “human player” choosed in order to show the correct videos/movies related to some events (for Blues a defensive one, for Reds an offensive one, for instance), just for STAND ALONE games. Server based Force on Force will not take adventage of this, initially.
In the description of the command it says: “True if the friendly/enemy team controls more than number objectives://PRI indicates a Primary Objective”.
I tested it with no luck so far. Is the number I need to check the “how many of the Political (main objectives in the PAK… the Parents) are under Enemy/friendly control?”
Only the ones for the Parents cities? When it sais “friendly/enemy” it takes care of alliances like “friendly and hostile”, or just the “allied/at war” ones.
I´ll apreciate very much if anyone is able to share a hint on this topic. Thanks in advance.

IF_PRI_CONTROLLED is for determining the current owner/controller of a Primary Objective.
Don’t matter which side, if he chose Red then Red is friendly, and vice versa. The videos that came with F4 on day one are all based on the assumption you’ll be flying Blue, i.e. the US/ROK side. You need to remember that the F-16 was the only plane available for a good period of time. “Fly any Plane”, thus allowing you to fly for the DPRK, came much later. That said, if you have custom news movies, you can fire them using the IF_EVENT_PLAYED command and gear these toward one side or the other.

Also remember, a lot of trigger file events that are wrote in the old document that is floating around are no longer valid and do not work.

Thanks both Malc & Cloud.
I expected the “friend” being whoever you choose… just wondering if alliances will count as well… I expect not.
Movies will be related to the Operational Design of the campaign… some kind of “master plan” to follow (it will be dynamic… check this out: https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?20956-POH-First-Test-Engine-Campaign&p=314380&viewfull=1#post314380)… just directions and guidance from the Joint Force Commander. They are not expected to be “cool” movies… just some sort of Briefing about what´s next, or just assesment about what is going on. If I don´t give “especific” videos to the apropiate side (human side), you will know the other´s side Plan… I want to avoid it.
Thus, I neeeded some way to recognize which side was choosen by the human Player. I tried this command, as it´s easy to know how many “objectives” a side has… and by making two or three interactions of “greater than” (using this command), it was supposed to have the solution clear… But I cannot make the command to work.
I was afraid about what Cloud 9 said … Just wanted to know if I have some syntax problem, or if anyone really knows for sure that it is not valid anymore.
Really apreciate. Thanks

“Friend” includes alliances once teamed up - there will only ever be two sides remember. Stick to IF_CONTROLLED and you’ll be fine.

Well… I´m really stubborn… So after drinking 2 more liters of Tekila I gave it another try…
It finally worked.
In the test, I had My country Spain, and Portugal as an allied (on alliances)…
Spain had 14 Primary Objectives (seen in POL/PAK tab on MC)
Portugal had 3.I tested with “#IF_PRI_CONTROLLED_LT F XX”… lively starting at xx=1… Once I reach the number 15 it started to play the video included in the IF-ENDIF structure.
So I guess the “LT” in the command syntax means “Less Than”… so it has just the opposite effect than the one described on the fórums.
The tricky part was to “be patient”… The command and the video don´t show up right the way… they take a few moments to check the values and to launch the movie…
I should have notice before, but I expected it to happen instantaniusly… My bad.So… no alliances taken into account (Portugal was not included).
For those who may wonder… I also tested the syntax with “MT” (More Than) …just in case it worked… IT DIDN´T.
Now I can manage dedicated team videos for Stand Alone Campaign… and for sure ít will be used for much more things!!!
ANOTHER HAPPY LANDING!!!
POH developmnet keeps going on!!!
Thanks!
