Eye strain
-
Hi all,
Just a check: does anybody else feel like their eyes need to strain more to focus in BMS than in other VR games? For example, in IL2, my eyes can relax and still see everything in focus. In BMS, it feels like my eyes keep “hunting” for focus.
I’m just wondering if (a) there’s something I can tweak to fix this (b) the focus might improve in the next BMS update or it’s just my eyes.
In case it makes a difference: this is on a G2.

@Ricky I close my eyes and go on autopilot between steerpoints to rest my eyes, but that’s after a few hours of flying. Fell asleep once or twice behind the stick that way.

@Ricky Same problem with a Quest 2.

@Ricky I know this thread is not that young, but you might be more sensitive to binocular rivalry.
The HMCS is only displayed in the right eye, and not the left eye, so both of your eyes do not get the same image. Some of us can process this easily and just ignore it, for others it creates a lot of strain. We are all different regarding that.
Can you check if you have less eye strain with the HMCS off ? -

Can you check if you have less eye strain with the HMCS off ?I’m wondering if the eye exam that was done for me, which included using a VR device to (I think) obtain my exact PD, would benefit the eye strain issue. I ended up with a prescription for VR Optician just to take the place of my 2x readers, would suggest these type lenses for anyone with a VR headset. Not only eliminates the need to wear glasses, but protects the fragile VR lenses from damage…

@Flow32 Yes, I recognize the effect you mean. For me it would be more comfortable if the HMCS is displayed for both eyes. But I understand that is not realistic, so I’ve accepted it.
However, what I meant in this thread was the strain I feel when looking at any object in the world, even if the HMCS is off. It just feels like my eyes can’t quite “lock” the focusing needed to see a sharp image and relax, like in the real world.
@Icer I don’t think additional correction will help, because I don’t have the problem in other games, such as IL-2.
