x52pro MFD and SST profile problems.
-
I have a few issues and looking for help from a learned pilot. I made several SST profiles and POV1 programmed as look up-dn-R-L. Pressing the clutch button (31 checked) it makes the POV1 also blinking and up-dn-L is working as in Prog UI but pressing R does not select a profile, the profile names keep rolling around and after pressing L clears the profiles. When I tried in the beginning it worked and could select a profile but perhaps I pressed sg unintended. Maybe installing again the default profile on the stick (which was originally supplied with it) would help but I could not find this anywhere .Can somebody help plse?
Next issue. BMS does not recognize what is programmed on the buttons. I do know that after launching BMS-setup-controller I should load a key file which tells BMS what is the content of the particular profile I intend to use. But I could not managed to do that. I copied a pr0 file into user-config but it does not work.
It is very attractive to me to change profiles on the flight that is why I am struggling to make SST work for me. Help would be appreciated. -
@Louis-0 I would not suggest changing STT profiles during a flight, as I would equally not suggest using a clutch button with an X52 or X52 Pro.
Some of the limitations of the software begin to show through in the STT Programming Software (it’s crap, has always been crap, hasn’t been improved EVER afaik).
If you are looking for a good ready-to-use setup for the X52 Pro and Falcon BMS, my ‘Falconeer’ profile set tries to mimic everything a real pilot would have at their fingertips in a HOTAS setup, in addition to a lot of sim-helper button assignments and quality of life controls to keep hands on throttle and stick. I used DX binds to minimize the number of actual keypresses that need to be present in the STT .pr0 file, to help further eliminate issues with sending keystrokes though STT.
Check it out if you’re interested, may be that using it might be a good guide for how to create something similar yourself and get past these issues you are having:
X52 Pro ‘Falconeer’ HOTAS Profile for BMS
(profile is up to date and working for most recent BMS versions) -
@Louis-0 Hello Semmler, thanks for spending time on my probs.
I have bms 4.35 and alt launcher 1.6 installed. Opened the KeyMapping of 1.6, hit B on keyboard, gear toggle came up, double clicked and new window came up: hit joy7 button and got B JOY 0 DX7, hit Press and Save. I did the same for a few buttons. However, when opening bms UI Setup key mapping the buttons have no function and trying same buttons in flight they do not work. If open 1.6 keymapping and hit the buttons the corresponding keys come up in the list of keys so I did something but something missing or wrong.
I even did config-joystic CAL-properties-check if it might help.
I tried “programming” in bms ui key mapping bms-basicDX x52pro loaded: hit B, click, press button 7. In flight it does nothing. On bottom right I have the little joystick. Mind you when left click, it shows the profiles I made with SST prog sw. It seems that BMS does not care about the controller. In spite of all I can increase thrust and change pitch and roll in flight. I am lost. -
@Louis-0 This is why I suggested that you review my ‘Falconeer’ profile, you would do well just to review the setup steps, and apply them to what you are doing. You must have the profile loaded in STT which you want to use, it will appear green when a profile is loaded, and grey when not, as shown in step 7 of my guide.
I am not at all familiar with Alternative Launcher, and would suggest that you instead install and run the latest version of BMS which is 4.37.2 as of this post, which includes plenty of bug fixes and improvements that made older version such as 4.35 fairly well deprecated.

I am new back to falcon after about 15 years away and found it very challenging getting my X-52 pro working again. I honestly nearly gave up. I really just wanted my multi mode set up that had in Falcon AF back in the day haha!
I tried using Semlers Falconeer profile for everything but I kept having to switch the keyfile inside the game and it bugged me (there’s probably a solution). I also wanted to change some bindings and my brief attempt at using the keyfile editor was not successful.
I ended up just using the Alternative Launcher to bind everything and copied most of the the config from Semlers set up. I still am running Semlers .pro file in the SST software so that that mouse cursor works for radar control. I am about 80% of the way there I think.
So I just built my own profile in the Alt Launcher based on Semlers graphic (Thank you mate). It was super easy and quick and I wished that I just did that from the beginning. Definitely recommend this way.

@StrykeOz The new integrated Alternative Launcher is absolutely fabulous! Glad you got it working! The keyfile loaded in BMS Setup > Controllers should always remain set as the last item which was loaded, such as my Falconeer profile, and should never clear or set differently when closing BMS and opening it once again. This is a technical issue that I’m not aware of, and should be reported if others are experiencing it, too.
Regardless, I’m happy you found the blank X52 graphic useful, and got yourself set back up to fly again. Best wishes and take care!!
