excellent screens excellent HUD…

Are mods like this included in the next big bms update?
Same for the pilot mod. -
Does someone know how i can make my HUD and HMCS symbology THINNER or kinda more transparent (the fonts and the lines)
That BOLD ARCADIAN is really a immersion-killer for me …bigtime…i know i know…details…but just asking.
Thanks in advance for that one /O

if the pilot mod is included, i hope it’s optional. but this one would definitely be nice.

@A.S. After I finish the reflections-part of the Canopy, I’ll look into this (even) more closely. What I found, is that by far the most of the things you see is rendered by the code. That means - in principle - not modifyable. However, there are/could be some tricks to this, and I’m going to see what is doable in such a way that the original code is not messed with.
So, to go short: AFAIK: NO, not possible to modify atm. THings like the ‘WARN’ message can be modified, because it is generated by a dds-picture. But this is an exception to the rule.

I guess reducing intensity doesn’t help…
-
Yes reduce your monitor resolution to 800x600. I know u don’t like it but I believe it’s the only way without new code and new exe.

Thats what i did. WDP provides a HUD color LIGHT mode…BUT then you dont see almost nothing.
-
@hi A.S.
Yes, I know. The point here is that the basic question: the fonts / line thickness etc, are determined by the code itself. In the code, there is a scale-factor included, which is combined with the color (RGB-code) - same as the brightness-wheel on the ICP - . This is AFAIK the only way to lighten the HUD-color mode. It’s a variant on the different colors available.
Perhaps you could ask Falcas if this (logic) holds for his code for the WDP.
To go short: changes to lines / fonts are for the most fixed because it is code-generated (rendered each frame that is)

Dr. Balding managed to make very cool and bright fonts for FF, maybe someone from the BMS gents could to ask him if he can do his magic in BMS…or assist the BMS gents if that is a mod of interest.
?
Dunno, thought mentioning it won’t hurt. -
For reference … here are two photos that I’ve taken in 2004 (not the same day, not the same camera)

@ FanOfBMS432: Could you re upload some comparative sceenshots of your HUD’s mod please ….
-
Dee-Jay, was that a Belgian or Netherlands F-16MLU?

Will do: tomorrow. First impression: should be the same, where the depth you see inside the green (the lighting points in the green: reflections of the projectorhead) is incorporated in my mod. Only detail here: I included violet. I’ll see if I can take a shot without the violet tint as well. This would compare better to these pictures.

FanNo … keep the tint … objective is to compare the tint between different other mods …

Dunno, thought mentioning it won’t hurt.Dr. Balding managed a lot of things. One very memorable for former BMS code group members. Well anyway thanks for offer we dont go this way. I already created new HUD hires font by referce photos to match typeface closely and thats is already what you got in 4.32 and not no changes are planed there as we are quite happy with result.

… mmm … sorry … no more needed No need to send me your files FanOfBMS! Thank you a LOT anyway!!!

Ataribaby: I wasn’t the guy asking for new fonts.;) I just pointed that BaldEagle did some magic back then in FF, basically from dimm to bright. My concern has been the tint of the HUD. But since you mention it: IMHO the fonts are a bit huge. Anyway, that is my opinion only and as far as I can fly with my favourite choice of HUD tint versions I am all happy.:D
BTW:
Dark to brownish is for USAF/Europen F-16s AFAIK and violet either the latest and greatest or only HAF from my knowledge…which is limited. But all Belgian/Dutch or Norway F-16s I saw so far used the darker brownish HUD, HAF Vipers the violet, USAF Block 40s either brownish or Violet.Tom
