New features expected in next release

I found a program called Daanav Mouse Cursor Changer and a blank cursor image. I can blank out the cursor or not pretty easily so alt tabbing is not painful. I’ll try it next time I host for friends and get shot down or otherwise have to keep the server in 3D but have nothing else to do.

For me, yes. My current fix is dont Alt + Tab after step time. If Ive stepped to the jet, its too late to go check my emails/facebook etc.
If you come up with a good solution, please share it.
The other issue Ive had with this is because its not fullscreen, on occasion Ive left the 2D UI up and forgotten it, even running other games with Falcon in the background…
Try changing the following line in falcon bms.cgf from 0 to 1. It fixed my double cursor problem.
g_bExternalWindowsOnTop 1 // Ensures external windows are always rendered on top of other windows and the taskbar (if set to 1)

Does that also force the 2D UI to be on top as well? If so it wont work well for me. Cant hurt to try anyway. Cheers for the tip!
EDIT: just tried it with that set to 1, unfortunately no change here. If I alt tab away from the 3D world, when I come back there is still two cursors.

No you can alt tab if you want from 2D and 3D. But i dont have a double cursor anymore in 3d.
There is another setting called something like exclusieve mouse…. Maybe that can help you too.
Another tip i read somewhere, is to cntrl alt delete and then cancel.

I’m still getting the double cursor. Thanks for the attempt.

Are you using Helios? I have find out yesterday that a checkbox “Always on top” in Helios is causing FPS and taskbar and probably cursor problems. I unchecked this checkbox on the “Monitor” panel within Helios and gained 10 FPS back. I think it also fixed my double cursor, but i’m not sure about that one.

No, I’m only using display extraction for the fact that it makes Falcon windowed. I’ve disabled all external windows except main.

Hopefully, the new version will allow you to switch between flights by right clicking a plane on the 2d map and then clicking join flight. This would be great for doing fighter sweeps and thinning out enemy aircraft numbers.

??? Isn’t that the case already ?
Sure you can click join in the ATO anyway

Right click-join sometimes works, sometimes doesn’t. I find it always works for F-16 types but can fail on other airplane types. However if they are airborne and you just double click on the map plane icon it’ll change you to their squadron&flight reliably.
