Laser configuration

In the laser configuration there are a number of options.
The only option that i found minimal details in the manual is the “PTR”. Values 1-4 gives different blinking mode. But manual do not say what is the function of each blinking modes . . . is this just eye candy ?All other options in the laser configuration do not have info at the manuals. Again, eye candy or they have some function ?

1 is quick, continuous flashes
2 is 2 quick flashes followed by a pause
3 is slow, continuous flashes
4 is 3 quick flashes followed by a pause -
@regev this is not a laser, it is an infrared pointer, and yes it does work and is not eye candy.
try it at night with your NVGs on when looking at the ground feature selected

I checked all the flashes types and also used the NVG at night. All working fine.
My question is, besides the flash pattern types, is it has some functionality when using a laser guided weapon ? why use type 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 ?

@regev No, it’s only for the pointer, not for the laser designator. So setting the different type has no influence on guiding bombs.
One usecase for different pattern would be in case of multiple aircraft pointing out targets, by changing the pattern you know who is pointing what.
