Does anyone know if the DED display on the new Winwing ICP will be compatible with BMS?

@brddog006 On their pre sale page, it shows the unit is compatible with both DCS and BMS. Let’s hope the DED is functional… I’m ready to drop coin…

@Icarus from the product description and photos it seems that it is not. I have ordered mine yesterday, I will give feedback when I have it up and running.

I’ve ordered mine too. I’m hoping to take it apart and 3d print seperate cases for the ICP and the DED. If it works, I’ll share the design files.

Now that we have a F-16ish ICP the unanswered discussion about WinWing MFDs comes to mind, i.e. https://forum.falcon-bms.com/post/383826 .

I may gift that to myself once I’m back to land based life and 4.38 releases. 😀

If this is compatible with BMS as the company says then you would probably need to have the WW app running while using BMS. This is how their DCS integration works so I assume it would work the same way for BMS. I’m not sure how the DED would work though unless it is just a screen that you can display the RTT DED on.

Button wise it would/should work without the use of the WW app.

Silicone buttons,…argh….why…They don’t like dust and are generally a nightmare to clean, especially when getting older or getting in contact with oils, cream, sunlight, even water…

From what I understand it is a dot matrix screen, so it must be operated differently.

I think that the most probable answer to both this and @Predator-23rd 's questions, is that it is operated via their app. Although from what I have seen in some videos on YT, the MFD displays are seen by Windows as screen extensions, so RTT could probably also work. But in any case, on their site they say that both the MFDs and the ICP are BMS compatible.

I will probably order the MFDs with the displays soon, probably in about a week and I 'll tell you what I found. I just hope that my USB hub can handle them all, because they require 5 USB ports (2 for each MFD with the display and 1 for the ICP).

*Edit: I just rechecked their site and they say that, at least the MDF display, is controlled via their app in both BMS and the other sim.

I use AIC to display the DED on my Logitech G13. I wonder if that might work on the Winwing ICP if not using their software to program the buttons. If it’s possible to program it without using their software.
