Have a buddy of mine who wants to fly BMS using a laptop. His system specs are:
Samsung laptop PC
Intel Iris Xe Graphics card
Processor 13th Gen Intel Core i7-1360P 2.20 GHz
Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.7 GB usable)
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processorHe has a 20" monitor which he attaches to his laptop so that’s apparently not a problem.
I don’t know enough about laptops and his specs to advise him whether this configuration meets the minimum requirements. For example, BMS says the minimum video card should be a 3D GFX card. I couldn’t find on Google whether his Intel Iris Xe card is the equivalent of the 3D GFX card. If not, what laptop video card should he get that would be, say, a step or two above the minimum?
Would appreciate any advice as to whether he needs to upgrade anything. He doesn’t want to go high end, just enough to be able to fly without any major problems / glitches. And he doesn’t want to spend more than ~$300 altogether but might be willing to go slightly higher if necessary. Not sure whether this is realistic; may have to convince him otherwise.
Also, can anyone suggest a good computer store in South Orange County, CA that would be able to install any upgrades for the laptop, assuming it’s necessary? He’s leaning toward Best Buy, although I have my doubts.
Thanks for the help.

@pandion intel Iris XE is integrated video. Not a video card. Will it be good enough? IDK. Why not just install it and see if it gets ok fps? BMS says minimum 2GB video ram.

Tell your friend not to worry that in our wing there are pilots who fly with hardware much less powerful than that and almost a decade old. FALCON BMS is the best simulator for all budgets and all latitudes.
Of course, you have to put all the graphic quality low and the shadows disabled. expect approximately 30 stable fps, if it is lower, contact us and we will provide you with a mod that we have made for our pilots to get some extra FPS.
Greetings.

What are the specifications of your hardware? What kind of problem are you having with the falcon?

@VIPER-0 my gpu died so running the game on my igpu. Ryzen 5 2500 and 16gb ram. game runs 30+ fps except first day of the campaign.

Well, first of all, keep in mind and remember that this mod is not endorsed by the FALCON BMS development group and in my personal opinion, although I am the creator, I DISAPPROVE its use since it destroys all the decades-long work of the entire development team and everything. the contribution of the community. This mod was created with the sole purpose that the boys of our combat wing would not be left out of the enjoyment of this wonderful, unique and most complete dynamic battlefield simulator where there is an F-16 and we can pilot it. So having said that, please, if you have any questions, you can contact me at any time, but not the community or the developers. this work that is going to be shared with you so that you can get some extra fps.
The mod is composed of several levels of visual quality degradation, both polygons (CPU) and textures (RAM), depending on where you are lacking hardware and the depth how you are going to apply it.
We have pilots in the wing who have computers (if you can call it a PC) with very low performance, having about 12 fps in flight without enemy aircraft and empty terrain. Applying the mod at its maximum de-gradation results in 25-30 fps on our server with some human pilots.
I hope our work can help you.
