Bye Logitech hello VKB
-
So after getting back into the Falcon scene again and now been flying 2-3 times a week my under 12 month old Logitech 3D Extreme turned on me.
From day one the Z-axis sometimes didn’t reset totally and both X and Y axis’ has too much play. But it was fine getting back into flying the Viper. But now the throttle only gives me 90-95% throttle even if I recalibrate it i Windows and having the Z axis very light to activate I needed to look elsewhere.I still wanted a one stick solution with Z axis and throttle so the VKB Gladiator NXT EVO Space Combat Edition Premium is now ordered. SO looking forward to a new flying feel.

@TS_riders you will be happy … the little throttle-axis at the base has 11 bits of precision (0-2047) instead of typical 8-bit (0-255) variable-resistor, on low-end logitech/thrustmaster gear

@TS_riders
no surprise considering the price differences. You do indeed get what you pay for… or don’t pay for! -
Yeah I kinda know. But then again this was my third joystick from Logitech and my old one that I used to fly Falcon 4.0 with was the force feed back also from Logitech and that worked flawlessly. And I could see after I bought the 3D Extreme that it had lots of bad reviews and many of the issues that i’ve also pointed out.

@TS_riders
The old Sidewinder? That’s from a totally different era
Just as some Saitek X45s are still working -
Yup the old Microsoft SideWinder Force Feedback Pro ️. I just thought is was a Logitech product but found out that it was in fact from Microsoft.
But that old noisy stick just worked flawlessly. -
@TS_riders
I have one in my stash — just in case! -
Naaaa, I think i’ll give the VKB a go first .
But thx -

But thxDid you think I was selling my Sidewinder???
I was just saying I have one in my collection just in case I want to use it or mod it in the future
The last thing I would do is sell it! -
@Atlas
Haha, nope it was just some kind of joke’ish answer
