X52 pro setup query.
-
Hello Forum.
I’m in the process of setting up an X52 Pro and am encountering a problem.
All buttons, dials and sliders etc are recognised and operating in the Saitek control panel.
However, some are not working in BMS eg the mode selector, the throttle MFD screen and the mini stick.
I am not importing any profile, to be honest……I don’t know how.
Just using the BMS setup page to map keys to the X52.Any thoughts on how to proceed will be appreciated.
Thank you.

did you map proper axis? check out the advanced button under setup!
cheers

Hi Scuby
I think so???
In advance options under “Flight Control” I have set all the options which refer to “axis” Z Rotation rudder, Z Axis Throttle, X Rotation Trim, Y Rotation Trim, Y Axis Pitch and X Axis roll all set to "Saitek X52 Pro Flight Controller (0)
Dead zones are small, saturation none.Is there another one which I’m missing which will enable all the missing functions?
Thanks for your help

(PS, you remind me of my Skydiving days, when I used to jump with a chap called Scuby )

Bayonet,
Just now I have read your problem correctly! Sorry  You list exactly the three that are indeed not working out of the box in BMS! So in order for you to be able to use the mini-stick and the stick mode-rotary, you need to set those up correctly in Saitek software. AFAIK the MFD buttons on the throttle you can only use the left one, the right button is not recognized in BMS (if you have the PRO).
The mode-rotary is not “mode” switching, but just three buttons. If you want it to be able to mode switch, you will have to choose another approach mate, which means saddling with setting up all keys in Saitek, or download someones else profile to save you the trouble.
For the mini-stick, what you can do is in Saitek you can change the mini-stick in a 4 way zone, so that for each zone a key is executed. This key execution corresponds with each of the four BMS assigned keys for cursor movements Left, Right, Up and Down. You may see how I have done it in my profile here: link
Or, perhaps you can change the mini-stick in a 2 way axis, and allow them to setup in BMS. I’d recommend the profile of Agave_BLue and see how he has done it: link
Cool you did some skydiving! Sorry that was not me ;), but would love to do/learn it once.
Good hunting!
Cheers,

I believe the linked profile does not use the ministick axis as directX axes actually.
A simple registry edit can achieve this, but in doing so you lose the twist rudder.

Blue is correct, the mini-stick in my profile uses keypress emulation programmed in the Saitek SST software. It’s the only BMS function in the profile that is using Saitek software. The mini-stick cursor slewing is directly from Hard~Decks X52 Pro profile.
Also, Bayonet, if I’m reading your post correctly, these buttons will not function in BMS:
- ‘Start/Stop’ and ‘Reset’ are not recognized buttons by BMS 4.32 u7.
…. - BMS only recognizes a press of the Function wheel at the Throttle MFD (DX31). No other buttons/wheels on the MFD are recognized by BMS.
Keyfiles/profiles in BMS can be frustrating. Once you learn the ‘tricks’, it’s not as bad as it seems. Stay with it.
Edit:
BTW, here is how to load a pre-made profile/keyfile:
Place the Saitek profile *****.pr0 in C:\Users\Public\Documents\SmartTechnology Profiles …. load to your stick via Saitek Control System
Place the BMS keyfile *****.key in C:\Falcon BMS 4.32\User\Config … load via Setup–>Controllers–>Load
Then you also need to configure your axes in the BMS setup screen, which it sounds like you have/are doing.
Edit2:
Other profiles to look at:
Hard~Deck: https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?6032-Saitek-X-52PRO-Profile
Scuby: https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?17393-X52-PRO-Profile-by-Scuby
Even if you don’t use any pre-made profile, the setup and load instructions in one might help clear up a question from another.
- ‘Start/Stop’ and ‘Reset’ are not recognized buttons by BMS 4.32 u7.

Thank you Scuby.
One final question, if I may, and then I’ll leave you in peace
On the screen shot of your profile, I imagine that M1 refers to mode 1 on the HOTAS.
But, what is S1 please ?This question shows how little I know about importing profiles, DX etc!
Thank you.Bayonet.

Thank you Agave_Blue.
“Learn the tricks”……that’s the secret!!!
If only there were a book “BMS Profiling and set up for Dummies”.
It would be a best seller.
There’s an idea for you, you’d make a fortune! Many thanks from a very challenged noobie.

Hi Bayonet,
M1 and S1 was just my way of showing Mode 1 and Shifted Mode 1 respectively.
By doing so I was able to add extra functions under buttons when the shift button on the flightstick is pressed and held.
Mode 2 and Mode 3 are free, aswell as their shift states. So another user may have upto 4x as much buttons available to assign to whatever.
Have fun!
