Mirage 2000D rampstart
-
Hello guys,
when i rampstart this plane i have two problems. First the radar does not spot targets further then 15-20 miles and i cant lock targets (both AA and AG) in no radar mod, the lock break immediatly. Second i dont have a gun.
What i m missing?Btw. i fly the mirage in BfB, no mods installed.

You are missing the fact that the 2000D does not have a gun and its radar is extremely limited. IRL, it is optimized for Terrain Following.

What crusader said.
it has even been reported a few times that the MAGIC II seeker spots targets further than the onboard radar, under ideal conditions.
Don’t mess with the 2000D radar in air combat. You will loose your SA trying to desperately track your targets. Better rely on IR seeker, datalink, AWACS, RWR or Mk.1 eyeball for cueing to target, and leave your radar either silent (to avoid being detected) or on the ACM autoscan mode that fits your needs.

OMG where is the hole i can hide myself…
That the radar is possible not good i was thinking but that this plane has no gun… tacref is not complete but in the weapons screen it says ammunition … (some numbers).
Brilliant, thank you both. The 2000D is coming more and more into my focus, i like the avoiding of air combats (i can shoot aim120´s and thats all). -
