X55 Key File Copy to New BMS Install
-
I’ve had my X55 setup and configured fine using the DX settings in my key file. I have a new computer and just did a fresh install of BMS. I copied my entire CONFIG file from my old computer to the new one and it appears to have worked ok, ‘except’, my throttle button presses are reading the DX keys that used to be on my stick, and vise-versa. I can’t figure out how to switch this back so I won’t have to rewrite my DX keys in my key file. Is there an easy way to do that or will I have to remap all of my keys to the new DX settings?

It has to do with how Windows recognizes the devices …. what order it ‘sees’ them in. It might be related to which USB ports they are plugged in to. Have your tried swapping which USB the two are plugged in to? Or change the order that you plug them in … switching around which one gets plugged in first (assuming windows is running when you connect them)?

I thought it was a game setup issue, but what you said is right on point. (Windows/USB port issue). I fixed this by unplugging both controllers (stick and throttle), uninstalled the profile software and both devices (through ‘Devices and Printers’), reinstalled the driver, and when prompted to plug in the controllers I made sure the Stick went in first, then the Throttle. It prompted on each driver file with a request to copy over the previous file which I did. Rebooted……then re-installed the profile software. Other than having to re-do axis mappings in the BMS Advanced section it appears to be all back to normal. On initial install that created the issue, I had both controllers plugged into a powered USB unit and I plugged that in all at once when prompted, so I guess it read the Throttle first. Good to go now - Thanks for the info you sent.
