      Hi all.

Ok, the last time I flew Falcon was in AF, so I’m a little rusty at this time. I wanted to post some questions which hopefully will be answered. Thanks.

      1. When I transfer my log to BMS, am I still able to accumulate scores and medals from where I left on in AF?

      2. I have found all the training videos on youtube but personally speaking, I prefer to old method of having a manual next to me. Can I use the training manuals from Falcon 4 & AF to retrain to fly BMS?

      I think that’s about it.
      Looking forward to your answers.

      Thanks again.

Mower put together a fantastic guide to go with your AF manual:

        AF to BMS conversion guide

Id also recommend going through the multicommand handbook in your install folder as well.

        Good luck!

Why use a manual from another version when you have perfectly good BMS manuals that explain everything in your Docs Folder?

It’s like using the manual from your old washing machine in order to learn how to use the new one you just bought.

How do you know he’s just bought a new washing machine? Are you spying on all of us?

            🙂

Netstat, the BMS docs folder contains manuals from the last 5 generations of washing machines. There isnt a perfectly good BMS manual that explains everything. And if there was a single source manual that covered everything it wouldn’t be perfect.

There is however a load of old manuals included by default. If the devs think manuals from another version should be included, whats wrong with adding one more?

On the logbook question, afaik no they are no transferable from AF to BMS.

AF, btw, was an abomination…so says this former Falcon OIR dev member.

We are not talking about a universal manual here. We are talking specifically for the question the OP asked, are you saying that the -1 and -34 manuals from BMS are not good enough to start reading and flying again? I underline specifically for flying and getting to know your way around the UI and stuff. He is not asking help with “everything” he does not need to know what is inside RP5 for example. For what the OP is asking, the BMS -1 and -34 are perfect for the job.

It’s for these situations that I don’t mind using the logbook editor.

Agreed, provided, and only provided, you are already familiar with the AF manual since it covers the SPs to 4.

Also, the conversion guide is a good bridge to the 2 bms manuals in question.

Lets not call them a -1 and a -34. Lets call them an aircraft operating manual and a release notes handbook.

Seeing as OP specifically asked for a manual which covers training, something that neither the release notes nor Red Dog’s operating manual cover specifically. So to answer your question, whilst I would never accuse them of ‘not being good enough’, I would certainly disagree with your assertion that they are ‘perfect’.

If you want it to be a -1 it should at least cover aircrew responsibilities, no?

If there is one coma missing from the real -1 you will anyway say that it’s not dash 1. So …

HA! I didnt actually see the white text until I quoted it… XD

I didn’t take it the wrong way without the lines to read though 😛

I think your dash one is a very crucial doc for BMS, Red Dog. But as long as it has avionics info in it, its not a proper -1!!! Argh!!!

                            😛

I look forwards to seeing the training section in it - but it will make it even less like a dash one!!! 😞

                            😄

Still I followed the real one structure as much as the BMS content allowed me to.And yeah I filled a few gaps which might not be dash-1 material but were not explained anywhere else in 4.32
compromise mate, compromise. Anyone unable to accept compromise should have succeeded at the airforce entry exams 🙂

Who said it would be in the dash 1 ? 🙂
                              Training stuff isn’t dash1 material

What would be great for newbies like me, and what i think should be implemented is a manual taking you through all training missions in BMS, or simply a whole new section in the BMS dash 1 manual.
