Do you know if it possible to stop the Safari bounce effect? (i think it is this: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/7768269/ipad-safari-disable-scrolling-and-bounce-effect)
Then you really feel like a native app on the iPad.
Need to test that one, haven’t tried it to be honest. Will get back on this.

Here is an example of a website that doesn’t scroll on the iPad: http://www.hakoniemi.net/labs/nonbounce/

@Guys,
that link only states that the default behavior does not apply to registered touch events on the Ipad in this case. So, with event prevent default() yes, you’d stop the bouncing effect, but at the same time you’d have to reprogram/reassign the wanted behavior to the registered touch events yourself.
@Focaldesign,
I pm-ed you a usable piece of js-code a while back, which also applies to this situation (Bouncing). Also, in earlier posts in this thread I suggested a feasible way of overcoming issues like thick fingers, longer ‘buttonpresses’ (read: longer touchevent-handling) etc.
Perhaps you’ll find more answers in that approach.Regards,

Hi FanOfBMS432,
Received your mail, thx, but I really don’t have the time right now to try that stuff.
it’s plain html/css/js so anyone feel free to mess around in it. All contributions are welcome -
Okay, maybe i have this evening some time and try some stuff. Thanks!

I’ll see if I can dig it up and post it here.

ok, here it is…
The below sees to the js.code which is used by Focaldesign (credits to him for a great piece of work + initiative!!), and gives an idea how to proceed developing the code. One way is to attach events, identified with GetElementsByID.
The touchstart event coupled directly with GetElementByID(‘description here’).onTouchStart() can be used.
An example of code which recognizes a continuous duration of touching the surface.
$(‘#element’).each(function() {
var timeout,
longtouch;$(this).bind(‘touchstart’, function() {
timeout = setTimeout(function() {
longtouch = true;
}, 1000);
}).bind(‘touchend’, function() {
if (longtouch) {
}
longtouch = false;
clearTimeout(timeout);
});});

I think I fixed the bounce effect with some javescript (http://www.hakoniemi.net/labs/nonbounce/). I also experimented with playing a sound click when you press a button to get some feedback.
I will try to upload this evening. (does anyone has a wav file from the default cockpit button click?)

Bertuz, FanOfBMS432, I’ve set up an online SVN repo at Assembla that might work easier for you?
Do any of you have an account already on there? If so, let me know your username or mailaddress of the account, otherwise PM me your mail-address, I’ll invite you. I can add only 2 members to the project in this free version unfortunately.
And beware, max of 500MB repo is also restriction of the free version. But as everythign is mainly css/html/js, that won’t be too much of an issue, but carefull with psd files etc. -
Sorry, i removed the zip! There is still a bug in iOS when you use a full screen webapp in combination with some javascripts, the home button will not work anymore.
-
Guys;
Suggestion: someone could create a YouTube video on how to install this.

Hello fellow pilots. I had this mod edited to use with ‘keystrokes.key’ instead of ‘bms.key/hotas’. It worked amazing.
But windows crashed, and i’ve lost my edited config.
Does anybody have one (for ‘keystrokes.key’)? Otherwise i’ll have to rewrite it again.
Thanks!EDIT: managed to restore the files from backup. phew. back in action

What’s the current status on this initiative and correcting attempts?
Anything useable to try? -
As several people said they liked it, I assume the versions up till now are useable. I’m still using it myself occasionally…

I like this app, I use it all the time.
Originally designed for an iPad screen it works well on my Nook HD+ running Android.
One day I might get round to trimming the buttons a little bit for a perfect fit to my slightly smaller screen.The main part is a mini webserver and the screens are viewed through a web browser, the clever bit is sending the keystrokes to BMS.

Same here. It has been my companion for the last six months or so. Very nice app, user friendly and very light and responsive.
A must to have. Thx to Focal
Wish it could be supported / developed in the future, though.

Thx for the compliment.
I wish that too, but I’m already swamped in many other obligations, this doesn’t get the attention it deserves -
Thanks for the feedback guys.
The link on the first post does not work. Where can I get the latest version of this tool? I must admit I have not read all pages. -

Nope, still 404 error.
The share and public folder setup, and thus links have changed.
My experienced when this is your setup, is to create a new folder with proper, new settings. Trying to get the old folders act the correct way is problematic.
