I now have it in all its glory, 4.33.1. Managed to import my keyfile from 4.32 no problems so no need to set up my HOTAS, all working fine and just tried the navigation training TE. I like the F-16B Blk 15, nice. Few things i’ve noticed…first one is on the HUD there isnt an exact indicator for airspeed, altitude or heading. In 4.32 flying the F-16C Blk 50 i have these in rectangular boxes next to their corresponding scales…is this just due to flying the F-16B Blk 15?
Other things are there are no air to air combat training TE’s, not complaining but just wondered if theres’ a way to convert the 4.32 ones to 4.33.1? and the last thing is in tacref there are no RWR tones for the selected aircraft/radar/SAM. Is this on purpose or has my install missed those files? Thanks all to those that have helped me with stuff, and massive thanks to the BMS team for a fantastic new version of the best sim out there.

Looking at the training missions in the manual it seems i am missing missions 16-20 and 24. Is anyone else missing these?

Yup! Thats the way the older blocks work. Pilots came to the same conclusion you did, that it would be better to get a number displayed. So, it was improved on the C/D models!

Cool i like how the different models vary, also the green MFD displays in the 15. Just noticed after flying the Blk 52 that the RWR doesnt seem to have handoff capability. When i press the handoff button, the handoff doesnt light up.
Blu3wolf do you have all 24 training missions? i’m missing 5 of them.

That is normal - some training missions havent been made yet.

Consider yourself lucky that is all. The real block 15s also do not have the UFC (DED) system or MFDs. They had a single CRT for FCR or weapon video display only which was sitting between your legs pointing up not in front of you pointed at you and the stores control panel was a segmented LED display much like alarm clocks other than the color.
-
Maybe one day the block 15s in BMS will be that accurate
I admit I would prefer to see further work on the newer jets done before that, but it would be cool to have that kind of cockpit fidelity for older blocks as well.
-
Yea interesting, i did wonder if the Blk 15 in 4.33 is really exactly how it is in real life, seeing how much older it is compared to the newer blocks.

Sounds like “Iron Eagle”.

OMG I was in the USAF at the time and I can’t stand those movies. I mean seriously the editors couldn’t bother to have the same configured aircraft between shots even? Seriously shoddy film work. Don’t even get me started about the “realism” of basically anything they did.

Yeap not even close. Go from entering data via the ICP then go back to entering it via the FC/NP if you want to get into a case of self-torture.

Iron Eagle is the reason I love the F16. :D. Also why I wanted to join the Air Force when I was little.
But man, you watch that movie now that you’re older and wiser and realize how absolutely RIDICULOUS that story really is and wonder… “How dumb was I???”

The one in BMS is this bu number: http://www.f-16.net/aircraft-database/F-16/airframe-profile/3761/
Interestingly it might have had the old cockpit with REO etc with that scheme, but looks like it was MLU’d for the PAF, so today it probably has the F-16C Block 50 cockpit layout with the modern avionics.

Yeah well I was in the USAF at the time and working on the F-16 so I knew how it worked and what things looked like. Watching those movies was seriously painful as it had nothing to do with the real aircraft (other than the videos tied in) or realism of how the USAF sections worked. Some of the shots in the movie weren’t even of F-16 cockpits.

This is why you cannot really look at the F-16 block numbers from foreign services as to what xx block had initially. The Taiwan F-16s are technically considered to be block 20s yet most of the avionics are 50+.

I like mvsgas signature on that topic. Everything F-16 related, depends on the country, block, year, and tail number…

With Mission Commander software, you can convert the air to air missions in 4.32 version to 4.33.1.
Got all my favourite training missions in 4.32 converted.
Download and use, pretty straight forward -

Very Wrong
1. MITL and harpoon haven’t been done alerady
2. all training mission currently shipped are 4.33 and 4.33.1 specific missions. They won’t work with 4.32
3. you can indeed convert older 4.32 TRN to 4.33 but these would not be documented.Training missions in 4.33 is a work in progress
