X-65F Throttle settings
-
Recently, I notice the settings for my X-65F throttle have changed – here are the symptoms:
I noticed that I could not reach 90% noz pos. in full AB and could not outrun Fox 3’s anymore … also, in MIL. power - I’m lagging behind other flight members.
I’ve:
-
Calibrated using the Saitek control panel, it has no perceivable effect and, may indeed, be a developer’s joke on all of us.
-
Reset AB in BMS at the detent, no change.
-
Tried a different USB port (both USB-2 and USB-3) – Hey, I’m desperate and I will try anything once
I noticed that at full AB, the throttle display does not go to the top – Throttle 1
If I set an unlinked deadzone at the top of the throttle, I can get get the display to go full. –- Deadzone –- Throttle 2With the deadzone setting, I can get a max nozzle of ~ 93-94% but the RPM in MIL and beyond never reads above 94% Using the Basic Handling TE as a reference - it settles at ~ 465kts and 10300 fuel flow @ FL20
Any ideas?? Should I use is the saturation setting in BMS? Change my call sign to Pokey or Missile Magnet? …

I use the X-65F throttle when I fly.
First off, I have NO dead zones, whether set via Saitek or (in my case) Windows 7 software.
Second, I have my throttles (left and right) physically linked or locked together (on the throttle quadrant itself).
Third, in Setup | Controllers | Advanced I have the Throttle Axis set to "Throttle 1 - Saitek X65F . . . " and the Right Engine Throttle Axis set to “Throttle 2 - Saitek X65 . . .” with saturation on both set to NONE.
Fourth, back at the Controllers page, I set my AB start. The above settings have worked for me without fail.

It worked for me for ~6 months, but not now …. getting very annoyed with Saitek

Not sure what the problem might be, but have you tried the calibration tools in the link below. I used DIview and see that there is one for each of the throttles. It might help in your case or give you some idea of what is going on with the throttle data.
