EMF Navigation LGSA Holding Patterns
-
Sorry, I don’t understand what are you saying here. Are you referring to the charts?
Υeap I’m referring to the charts for Souda approach. Holding Patterns seem to be wrong. For the given IAFs, I think turns must have oposite directions of those written in the chart. I tried direct parallel or teardrop entries following the 70 (or 20) degrees rule approaching from several different directions.

If you want, post the chart and I will help you ;).
Nikos.Hello my friend Nikos
I’ll try to do this tomorrow but the chart is inside the dock folder of EMF. Thanks! -
Dear friend Nikos
these are the approach charts of LGSA as they are included in EMF docks subfolder.
Thanks again for your kind help.;) -
The charts are also on the EMF interactive map:
http://users.skynet.be/bs999158/MAPEMF/index.htmlSo IAF is on R-132° 10 DME.
You depart the IAF tracking R-132 outbound (thus flying 132° ± any correction for drift) to DME20, then turn LEFT to intercept R-110° inbound the tacan (thus on a 290° heading)both the headings and the radials are referenced on the charts, just Don’t confuse radials and headings
the only error that I can see is that the IAF should be at the end of the holding leg, not at the beginning like I often did wrong in the past

It isn’t a wrong this by you.
Sometimes the IAF is at the start of the holding leg over the radial, exactly like it is on this chart by you.
No wrong there! Simply a rare case ;).

And here is an example from real world, as a confirmation for my previous words:

ok! LGSA 29R lets say that you are coming from northwest and catch the 132 radial at 10 DME (IAF). will you perform a teardrop entry? lets say yes. What turn will you do to catch the holding pattern after completing the teardrop leg? leftwards? Arrow shows different direction….thats an example of my confusion.
-
If you are coming from NW, then aim directly for the IAF and you are str8 into the holding.
-
yep, if you’re coming from the NW, you make a direct entry, not a teardrop one
