Korea EM 1989 Update
-
Thanks for checking, was getting worried there might be else wrong that I’d missed.

Version 2.56 released. This is available as both a patch (if you have v2.51 or 2.55) or a full install. This is a minor update to fix the Tornado GR1 loadout issue.
Download (v2.51/2.55 -> v2.56 Patch);
RAR - http://www.mediafire.com/file/k3gdjx37uuku7ku/Add-On_Korea_EM1989_v2.56_Patch.rarDownload (Full v2.55 Install);

7ZIP - http://www.mediafire.com/file/6ev91rqr197lcca/Add-On_Korea_EM1989_v2.56_Release.7zInstallation;
- Extract the downloaded file into the …\Data folder in your BMS install location. Overwrite files if you have an earlier install of 1989 v2.
- Add Add-On Korea EM1989 v2\Terrdata\theaterdefinition\Korea EM1989 v2.tdf to the bottom of BMS\Data\Terrdata\theaterdefinition\theater.lst on a new line
- Theater should show up for selection in the Theater list in BMS (Remember to restart BMS after switching theater)
Changes from v2.55;
-Fixed Tornado GR1 hardpoints
-Reverted AA-10A/C aero changes
-Partially reverted AA-10B/D aero changes
-Partially reverted SA-2 loft change
-Fixed some DPRK SAM sites having SA-14 instead of SA-7@Molnibalage - Sorry, wasn’t fixed until the update above, you should only need the patch.
The labels is for full v2.56 is not correct. The filename is v2.56 but in your post you called it v2.55. I DL and check the stuff.

Good catch, thankfully just a labelling issue. Thanks.

Here no joy anyway, checked and installed 3 times, in gr1 loadout my falcon crashes to desktop
-
That is unfortunate to hear. I wonder what the issue is…
I take it this was with the full installer for 2.56?
Is anyone else still seeing crashes in the GR1 loadout screen?
-
so I just installed 2.56 over a 2.55 install using the patch
Went into gr1 loadout… messed around with it, equipped a JP233 onto my flight, ran an OCA strike, commit to 3d, ran the whole mission, no crashes.
-
I tried only in UI but with many config, Tornado GR1 works fine now.
-
Ok, solved, I used the rar full install, I think the 7z has problems somewhere
sorry for false alarm

Elouda, small issue: Block 40 and Block 42 no longer have the “Block 40 style” hud

Thanks, has been fixed. Will put up a small patch (v2.57) for this later today.
EDIT: Version 2.57 released. This is a patch to correct a few issues with v2.56, including the Block 40 cockpits.

Keep up the good work Elouda;)

+1 - have been enjoying the heck out of your work. Thanks!

And Elouda, cloud U plz check the following 2 things in the future patches? Thank U for your great work.
1. The AGM-45 and AGM-78 seem to be nerfed a bit too far. In my try of launching both missile for a dozen time in test run, NOT a single missile ever hit the tracking radar (through a AGM78 hit a missile launcher lol). I’ve tried getting close, using POS/HAS, even getting fired upon by the SAM, these ARM just can’t score a single hit. Which in result, my team never carry these missile in campaign.
I know these nerf repesent these old ARM can not deal with a radar turned off and other old tech issues, but F-16 can only carry 2 of these missiles, when U fire all of your ARM which can only hit dust while at the same time the SAM is still launching missiles into air, that feels bad… Hoping these getting a tweak, we do not expect a 100% hit ratio like HARM, but 0% is awful, 50-70% is acceptable (since the tracking radar won’t be threatened to shut down, there is no protection until U kill the radar or bleed them out of ammo).
2.The AI sometime can use the IR missile(especially 3rd gen IRs which have a longer kinetic range, like AIM-9M AA11 etc.) to shot human player at about 9-10nm(head-on scenario with AB off). Human can hardly notice the smoke from that distance and the IRs do not have a RWR spike, which will sometime cause trouble. And on the contrast, Human can only get a solid lock at less than 4NM head-on. I know this likely to be an 4.33 issue not the 1989 problems, but can U help to check it out?
And again great thx to the theater.

Elouda,
apart from those same issues pointed out just above, on my side there’s nothing weird else to refer since the installation… all are going out pretty fine, I mean.
I case, I’ll let you know further.
Good job, mate!With best regards,

According to DB this is not possible, seeker range is too low. In fact as I see seeker ranges were nerfed. AI cannot cheat itself as I know.

I feel AGM-45 is pretty good as it is, I generally get about 50% hitrates with EOM/PB against known sites when firing at 10-15nm. Try to make sure you launch well aligned and into the correct elevation. AGM-78 could probably be a little better, will take a look at it.

Here is some abnormal AI long range IR launch ACMI screenshots
First 2, is me being fired upon at 10nm head-on, when I just finish climb and go for MIL to dogfight
Last 2 is my teammate being fired upon at 11.5NM pure headon by AIM9X (in ITO not 1989), probably he is afterburnning but the AI head-on lockon range is still quite surprise me.
Myself often only get a solid lock at 6-7nm even at rear part of the target:( . And the COOL function of the SRM sometime even shorten the lockon range, which got me mad….

None of the images are visible. AIM-9X has 72k feet range in DB as I know. If some degree aspect and full AB is provided the head on lock is possible with AIM-9X. With ~40k feet AIM-9M is not. In fact with ~10 deg aspect without AB is almost impossible to use use in head on case the AIM-9L/M. The “all aspect” capbility is not so all aspect rather it means “you can use against incoming targets with ceratin limitations”.

Hi Elouda, I’ve re-run some tests on the AGM-45 and found the problem.
I found that the key for a AGM-45 to hit any radar is to pefect alignment both in heading and pitch. In the test, if the devation from where your A/C is pointing to the true SAM position is less than 5 deg(basically half of the HUD glass at 15NM), the missile can get a quite acceptable hit ratio.If the devation is larger than 10 deg.(1 HUD glass at 15NM) the missile will very likely to MISS.
So the result is AGM-45 can be used at SAM/AAA which localation is VERY well known, as you can pinpoint it in the 3D world (to handling both heading and pitch of the A/C to get a very precise launch). Launch range should no more than 15NM (best at 10nm).
Any none-planned / popup sam should not be targetted because you don’t know the true position and range of the SAM, unless you can get a visual where the SAM is launching from.

Hi molnibalage, I’ve re-upload the imgages~
We known the ALL aspect is not so “all aspect” IRL, but in BMS, the AI seem to have some advantage in these scenario. I can even get locked on and fired upon by AI at 5nm head-on when I’m complete IDLE.
And have U even met the COOL problems ?
thx for the reply
