X52 Causing Radar antenna tilt issues
-
I’m having this strange issue with the Logitech X52 Pro. Whenever it is plugged my antenna tilt is stuck at 99 99. I cant change it using the keyboard or when I bind it using different buttons on the X52. If I unplug it everything works normally. I tried unbinding the keys it still happens. Has anyone else had this problem and know how to fix this?

Normal practice is to make radar elevation an axis in the BMS Setup–>Controllers–>Advanced–>Avionics screen … usually the small(er) wheel at the throttle thumb.
While you’re there set the larger wheel to Man Range (TGP Zoom) and be sure to set your throttle and if you wish your slider.
Pitch
Roll
Stick Twist
Throttle
Rotary 1
Rotary 2
SliderAre all seen as axes by default in BMS.

Hi Scarab, I had the same problem with my X52 (not Pro) , because I had not realised that the radar elevation was set by default to be controlled by the Rotary X (as Agave said, the small rotary control at the thumb reach).
As Agave pointed out, it is set in the Setup–>Controllers–>Advanced–>Avionics, it should be the first line of the screen (I cannot make a screenshot of it for some misterious reason). If it’s set to work with the rotary, the keyboard control won’t work. But most important: if the rotary is not in the centered position (you can feel it as a small detent), it will send your radar antenna fully up or fully down with very small rotation, it’s very sensitive.
So I suggest to calibrate it with the Saitek control panel to make sure it’s centered (and not drifting), then start Falcon, go in flight and try to control the antenna elevation with the rotary.
If you find it too sensitive, you may still disable the rotary in the setup and use the keyboard instead.
Let me know if it works.
CheersDavide

I got it to work. I found out that I wasn’t using the thumb wheel, since I thought it was just a button. Using this fixes the issue I as having. I will probably have to calibrate it though, since it is too sensitive for me at the moment.

My X52 works, but the radar elevation is “twitching” when not dead center. Is there a sensitivity fix in the programmer or is it a controller rheostat issue (I fear the latter)

Your fear is confirmed. This is a pot issue. I see it most on the radar elevation and the slider.
