Hi, some tips for the tools:
3dsmax is the most advisable, as there is a plugin to export the models to the *.lod format which is the one used here in this sim… any 2d editor to make the textures… people use photoshop which has a plugin to export the textures to *dds format… a tool called lodeditor which you will use to import the model to the database.
The plugins for 3dsmax you can find here in Wavedavey’s topic: https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?6009-3DS-Max-Exporters-for-BMS
I suggest you to download the one which fits the installation of 3dsmax, as for example, any version previous 2013, as well as all documents inside the same folder in onedrive.
for the photoshop plugin you can find it here: https://developer.nvidia.com/nvidia-texture-tools-adobe-photoshop
Make a search here for lod editor, but someone could help him on this. I do not have the llink to download it here.
Please do your work in the 3d and textures before you move to the next stage, which is adding the dofs and switches to make animations. After that, you export to lod format, and import in database, then you need to make a 3dcockpit dat file to make it work in the BMS, it is another story, keep calm…
I will be around in case you have some questions ( i am not the one experienced, but i know a little)
