Hi gents,
I should have posted this officially here quite some time now but due to work overload it was forgotten, so here it goes.
For the needs of Ikaros theater, we used a free FS model to create the Airbus A320 CEO (Current Engine Option) version with the sharklet wings. (But new variants might be introduced sooner or later to most accurately reflect reality).
The referenced 3D model was the freeware Airbus A321 hosted on animium.com site, and licensed under the Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike 3.0 Unported License (in short: you are free to distribute and modify the file as long as you attribute it’s author(s). ).
Following more than 400 hours of work, the new model has been carefully build up to our quality standards to enhance our theater, although we would also like to see it in the officially BMS DB some day (along with the E-7 on the other thread, yes I’ll state that there too… ), if devs are interested and willing to go this path for the community.
Moreover, except the original Aegean Airlines camo, our intention was to create new liveries for other Airlines-of-interest in the area, like Turkish, Egypt etc. That would also help populate our simulated airspace with some extra civil flights, thus enhancing airforce/aircrew training through the standard limitations that apply in rl world etc. Following some user requests to adopt the model in their theaters; too and create new liveries for their countries, permissions have been granted to freely create the repaints of your choice, as long as the new livery is shared with the rest of us here. This will save us some extra time as and prove the unity and passion of our community.
So, I am attaching below reference pics of the liveries created by now, you can continue posting your progress reports here in this thread, I would update this 1st post with any new liveries and dl links when becoming available.
Happy rides!
Hi Raptor ! Thanks again for gived me the permission to make the texture and to share it with BMS community. Your work deserve to be highlighted for your creations, sympathy and disponibility !
Thanks !Hello,
In case of a conflict between North and South Korea, for example, I am not sure commercial flights would be allowed.
Also, French Air Force who deploys official “République Française” aircrafts never had A320, but A319CJ…
Very nice work of yours!
Hi Radium !
Yes you’re right for the french air force fleet but before working on these textures, I made some researches. I already precised it on the subject (available on the Benchmark Forum). For the second point, maybe i think, (it’s only my point of view) we can use them for making a NO FLIGHT ZONE AREA ? Like in Lybia for HARMATTAN Operation ? I read it in a book from A.Paringaux or for other mission utility like M.A.S.A (Mesures Actives de Sécurités Aériennes //Aerial Active Security Mesure) or V.I.P transport.
Thanks for your answer who was useful at all.
Have a good week all !

There seems to be some conflict with the Air Seoul skin and the Aegean skin from the OP, i.e. the aircraft serial number, the star alliance logo and the aegean logo near the cockpit and the red stripe across the fuselage.
Minor nitpick, D-AIPF is not equipped with sharklets IRL.

The PSD file is too large and results in an OOM error when I try to open it so I’ve been slowly reverse engineering the original Aegean texture. Details are all WIP, although the ones you mentioned have all been corrected in the latest version on my PC at home, as already mentioned in this thread.

That´s correct. And the German government never used A320, they had A319. But I only can dance with the ladies we have here at the party and it´s fine to me.
I´ve no clue about 3d modelling, so I have to live with it. But we never had such a beautiful model of a civilian aircraft with so many liveries and that´s fantastic for more realism in our sim.

Nice skins, when I modify campaigns for use as a TE I frag C141s to act as commercial air traffic. I frag them in the airways to match typical air traffic. Getting these in place of the C141s would add to the realism.

That’s exactly what we’ve done at the 8th and it’s a lot of fun. I can PM you some steps if needed because it involves a bit more than just swapping the models.
