Stop talking about flying online and get your butt airborne!

…Like understanding how energy conservation works not only by reading textbook but also by swinging a pendulum.
Well put.
I never fear of death while flying as I only “fly” in the virtual world…
You haven’t met my wife…

I was an “SP only” flier for many years, because of pilot performance anxiety (not the sexual one;)). When I finally got the guts to jump into MP, I learned 10x faster and enjoyed it 10x more. I rarely use SP anymore.

Everybody has to learn. Everybody makes mistakes (hopefully not the same one twice). We all strive for that perfect ‘flight’, knowing that it’ll never happen. I’m sure the same is true for real pilots too.
If current circumstances mean that multiplayer is not an option then there is still plenty to keep you interested in Falcon BMS single-player after all.
Lots of experience in single-player is not always transferable though; it’s easier to train someone to do things right than coach them to change bad habits. It’s also just as motivating for experienced ‘instructors’ to see their virtual ‘students’ progress as it is for those newcomers to multiplayer who wake up to a whole new world and hopefully learn a few things along the way.

I learned this the hard way, after years of acquiring SP bad habits.

Krause whilst I agree that MP is very fun and huge step over SP, it’s a little condescending being told how to play the sim. I’ll play the sim how I see fit to enjoy it my way. I see a lot of people flying non vipers in a VIPER sim which I find odd, but I don’t create a video singling them out telling them they’re wrong for enjoying the sim their way.
Krause, I know you’re heart’s in the right place here, but I kind of found it a little insulting if I’m perfectly honest. It kind of came across that I’m not one of the ‘elite’ because I don’t fly online regularly.
It has nothing to do with being elite or “in” but simply the truth in how humans learn. You learn by doing and being in the middle of it way more than by reading books or studying. For those who want to fly MP the best thing to do is to fly with humans online. He isn’t addressing those who want to fly SP only and he isn’t stating you have to fly xx amount per month/week/whatever. He is only addressing those who think they can go study and read about the subject and become good at it prior to doing it.
Whilst I might learn navigation, SA, weapons etc. a lot faster via MP, I have the luxury of learning when time permits when doing it via SP. I’m off “the second group” (by your video) yet I’d bet money I’ve been in Falcon world longer. I fly exclusively SP currently, but have spent many MP hours in a VFS back before BMS4.3x was even out.
Apologies if it comes across as an attack, I mean you no disrespect.
To this I would say you are reading WAY too much into what he posted. His thoughts were about those who WERE interested in MP but were delaying for said reasons. Not once did he state that those who play SP only were inferior or missing out. His rant only references those who do fly MP and those who state they will or want to fly MP. Now the one point I will give you is that learning the systems in SP can help build the muscle memory so you can spend more time building SA instead of fiddling around with the FCR or some other sub system that you aren’t up to speed on. Otherwise for those who are interested in MP and are okay on the systems the best thing to do is to fly MP. For those who cannot invest the time into MP or a VFS or are not interested in MP that is why the SP exists.

I am not passing judgment on anyone - just trying to motivate some sideline guys to start getting involved.
I understand all the reasons why someone wouldn’t fly ,and it’s cool.

First online, pickup session, kind of “Let’s test it, I’ve never connected”. “Oh, alright, let’s dogfight a bit, oh well, now let’s fly a campaign mission”.
Thanks, Falco[GER] ;). And Falcon Lounge, we found each other there.
https://www.falcon-lounge.com/This excerpt was recorded when it finally decided to work, right after Falco’s last bomb run. Shame, it was a beautiful as hell vision.
1/ We’re on Discord. I have an admiration for all those people who can correctly understand anything on IVC in another, not mother-language. That’s many people, yes. And, I don’t even understand strictly everything. And yes, I have a problem. The only solution I’ve found so far is scratching my head.
2/ Night + no TGP + anyway not used to turn my FLIR on = many painful moments, but still a lot of fun, thanks to datalink. And NVG, but not that much.
3/ Flying solo and ironing practices DOES help. Flying formation to refuel DOES help. Flying formation with a human becomes really easy - but there’s no proof of that on the video, I’ll concede
4/ Connecting and using the sim was easy. Just do and it does. I even disconnected accidentally (F4BMS bugged out when I tried to turn my FLIR on, guess it’s not used to me either :P) and could reconnect straight away inflight after restarting. And lost my TGP in the process, of course, but we used 82’s.That’s all. I really enjoyed this online session, will enjoy my next ones certainly as much, and I’ll still enjoy flying solo too. It’s just a different thing.

This is one big reason for brevity. Aside from being brief, tying up the radio less, there are deliberately not words that sound alike in brevity code, so the words are distinct.

Fair point. There are videos where I can follow IVC comms ways more easily, and that must be one of the reason.

Congrats on the milestone
