Where did you get the buttons for the ICP, the switches and Knobs for the consoles from?
Awsome Pit BTW
Thanks. The ICP was manufactured by Propnut. Here is the thread on his ICP. https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?15107-DIY-ICP-Module He made them from scratch and he is selling them now as a DIY ICP kit. PM him and he can let you know if he still has any kits left or if he is going to make more.
The switches are various producers. They are not replicas of the real Viper. I just wanted a functional pit that I can fly. I didn’t want to spend a lot of money so this is what I came up with. Most of the switches came from Radio Shack and the Knobs, Rotaries and controller boards came from Desktopaviator.com.
The On-On-On switches I got off ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/Alco-Switch-MTG-226PA-Brand-New-ON-ON-ON-1-piece-/131120156584?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1e875ecfa8 and http://www.delcity.net/store/search/p_789121.h_789123.t_1.n_y.jsp?search=7300048&x=0&y=0

Hey guys
Just getting back into BMS after a couple of years away from it. Question, from this post I see that multiple screens are supported and thats great. I’m running 3 27" screens as the main dispaly and 1 10" touch screen as the UFCD. 2 10" screens for my DDI. I know about the extractor and will set it up when ready but the one question I have is that my main screen at 5040x1050 looks like sorry to say crap because I can’t zoom out on the pit.
i’m trying to get something like this or at least to get it to zoom out a bit. sorry I don’t hava screen of what I’m seeing with BMS as I’m just setting everyting back up.
Thanks in avance for any help on this.

take a look at my Hot List… there must be a section like TrippleHead2Go there I talk about the settings in cfg file for FOV.

I think what you are trying to accomplish is to widen your FOV. You must go to you BMS Config file and change the FOV setting. I think the default is 50 or 80. I have mine set to 110. There is a thread on this and I will try and look for it. Also, you will probably have change the pitch limit for all your cockpit art files for every model aircraft so you have full pitch range in the 3d view. There is also another thread on this.

Anything GTX660ti and above will run 4 monitors, three for surround and a 4th, though I had to run it in windowed mode. Will drop the 4th monitor to another box shortly to avoid that
i looked at the specs for GTX660ti http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-660ti/specifications and the Standard Display Connectors are One Dual Link DVI-I, One Dual Link DVI-D, One HDMI, One DisplayPort
my displays only have HDMI and VGA (cheap 1080p LDC TV). do i need to converter or something to HDMI or is there another card with 4 HDMI out?
thx
i guess the adapters are cheap http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-DVI-I-male-to-HDMI-female-M-F-adapter-24-5-LCD-HDTV-DVD-/271408679448?pt=US_Video_Cables_Adapters&hash=item3f3137ca18
but a more general question is which card would people recommend in the $200 price range?
-
You can always get an ATI with 6 mini-display ports out, but I don’t recommend it (even though that’s what I’m running).
-
Why not?. A guy on my VW use an HD7970 with 6 mDP and he is very happy with it
-
depends on what u want to do… and what u have already.
-
i don’t have anything (other than my old laptop which seems to run BMS just fine on one monitor)
anyhow, i’m really in the $200 range so i’m leaning towards the GeForce GTX 750 Ti

if u r going to go for multimonitor and nvidia u will need an sli motherboard and a second vga, not the same, even an old 8800 will do just fine… its needed with softth to drive the third monitor. Now newer cards can drive 3 monitors solo, if they r all the same resolution, and the vga can support 3 at the same time. Also have in mind the more ram the vga has the better for multimonitor like +3gb.
All the rest are just money factor…
oh and take a look at the power consumption and your psu… -

This image is what I am looking at for the future. I am currently one 1 26" monitor, but was looking at a multi monitor set up. But I just don’t like the screen borders in between each monitor. To get this kind of resolution, you are looking at a projector on a wide curved screen. I am looking into that ATM. I am looking at higher end projectors with HDMI through inputs and the resolution quality for such a set up. I believe you can have up to around 120* projected onto a curved screen that is more realistic in terms of view angle and image representation. The problem I am looking at, however, would be any stretching and image quality problems when doing this kind of a set up. The screen would have to be a fair amount away from your actual position and how the resolution quality would be affected.
Does anyone run a projector set up? How is the image quality?

I’ve had a number of multi-monitor cards over the years. I’m on my 19th and 20th, crossfired, at the moment. I’ve been running 2+ screens for the last 14 years.
In all of that time, I have had no end of trouble with ATI cards, everything from fan blades breaking to the cards shorting out to a heat issue actually cracking a card in a half to chips popping off the card when they let go and ricocheting around inside my case. This applies not only to gaming rigs, but also to business rigs that have been displaying nothing more elaborate then two spreadsheets at the same time.
I’ve never had a problem with the Nvidia cards that I’ve bought that involved catastrophic hardware failure.

I have ran ATI cards for years and never had these issues. ATI has a large range of sub manufacturers with a difference in quality. Currently running 2 XFX HD 7970’s with no problems. They run hot, but that is fine. The faster and harder you push a GFX card, the more problems you can get. I have the ability to use 4 DVI and 4 HDMI connections to power multi monitors. But, like my above post, I am looking into projection.

oh and take a look at the power consumption and your psu…one reason i like the GeForce GTX 750 Ti is its only 60W. i think that can drive 4 monitors directly by i’m not sure how, the outputs are One Dual Link DVI-I, One Dual Link DVI-D, One mini-HDMI, that’s 3 only. i’d like to add a 4th for the cockpit, i guess i can do that with the built in graphics port?
thanks for the tip on sli motherboard, i didn’t know that
what’s a reasonable amount of RAM for this configuration. will 4GB work ok or do i really need 8?
-
Seen from NVidia page, most 700 series cards can drive up to four monitors each.
I have had secondary card or motherboard integrated to drive additional (instrument) monitors without problems.

I have 660gtx asus cu OC 2GB and it runs 3monitors very well. 4 monitor for mfd is conected to motherboard (well 3570K has integraded chip so it uses that but anyway) and no broblems.
My ex was ati and i say go for nvidia, much better drivers for multimonitor. Ati goes stupid if you want to play in one screen, it duplicates image to all monitors But nvidia just use 1 monitor. Can’t understand why ati wont fix that too ???

I’m not sure how old your experience with ATI is, but they have pretty good support for configuring your displays however you want.
I have 3 x 24" 1080p monitors, and two 3.5" displays running at 800x600. My typical setup for gaming is to span the three 24" together at 5760 x 1080 and keep the two small monitors independent (they are for my MFD’s) and it works out pretty well for me. I’ve never had any problems getting their settings correct for any of my games.
The duplication you are talking about happens occasinally when I go into a GAME (not ATI software, now) that doesn’t support more then 1920 resolutions. In that case, it shows me 1920x1080 on my center and duplicates the images to my side monitors.
A surprising number of games have limited support for 5760 x 1080, if you can deal with some of the obscure issues that come up, like screen filters only filling the center monitor or just beyond.
I’ve never messed with Nvidias settings, but my next cards might be Nvidia if they can give me six outputs on one card, or start letting me use outputs on two cards in SLI mode.

.
And thats what i talk about, i play some games at 1920x1080 and nvidia won’t duplicate it. Ati drivers are still not so good. I have ati 6870 in my second computer and new drivers are still not good as nvidia when it comes to multimonitor use. (IMHO)
