Right click on the BMS icon -> Compatibility tab and make sure those boxes are marked. I had the same problem when using Alternative Launcher instead of BMS icon on my Desktop, so try if you run BMS without AL - see if it works

In the end of the day he enjoys the fruits of his craft and shares it for free with others. That’s truth.Second one driven by the money works hard to meet the demands and deadlines of the corporation he works for to fulfill his pocket.

Dogfight Module Fuel State Level Dissimilarity

In MatchPlay Dogfigth Module (Multiplayer/Singleplayer), there are differences in fuel state level on both sides each time we respawns to our cockpits.
The differences sometimes reach up to 600lbs, which is a huge dissimilarity - especially in low fuel level fight performance. We used F-16 Blk 52.
For ladder tournaments taking place like in SA-SIM.com that might be a problematic for keeping chances fair and equal.
If you guys take a look on it, it would be much aprreciated.

Seems like both jets have those numbers selected randomly.Reproducibility Procedure:
Go Dogfight module in Matchplay (MP/SP), check initial fuel state levels everytime you respawns - I was able to reproduce it in Singleplayer as well (respawning multiple times) -

Assumedly, promo videos should be short, same as trailers, otherwise they could get draggy and become boring.
Therefore we decided to make it short but “meaty”.Thanks for all kind words chaps, especially from you devs. We’re really happy that you like it. If you feel motivated for further work because of our video that’s the best achievement for all of us!

In behalf of VFS Janusze I would like to present you a new movie that we’ve been working on since the release of new Falcon BMS 4.35.
The main purpose of the video is to promote our squadron across the virtual combat simulation world, but in the same time it’s a tribute for the team and all those who continuously helps develop Falcon 4.0 to be “as real as it gets” and to be still alive after more than 20 years now!Give credit where credit’s due especially when you enjoying it for free.

Jp: as we already discussed, let’s supress DF module, let ppl create TE they can use it the same.
So it will be one less thing painful to maintain, less to Btest, less complains when it don’t work as they would like.Win / win.
I know its your product and you can do whatever you like with it, but such drastic measures would be indeed like a doctor cutting a leg of patient - where it was only a broken bone - because he was yelling and screaming from the pain he felt. Don’t get emotional here because some of us feels that pain. Besides, if we feel the pain that means we do care.
Let’s help each other instead.Dogfight Module in Falcon is the best BFM platform in all combat simulations! Quick to rumble, rules are easy to set and read, fast respawns, 1v1 2v2 4v4, guns or heaters, BVR or BFM.
If you would just abandon that “child” and make all of us suffer in TE you would shoot yourself in the foot.I know many vpilots thats fly BMS just for dogfights, they are not active much here, but they do exists and enjoy what you have provide to us.

But do you think your monitoring and test protocol is good enough to make the difference between 1.14 seconds and 1.42 ?
I seriously doubt it , but I will monitore in code
Of course it’s good enough, the time was measured frame by frame using Vegas Movie Studio. Trust me it’s accurate.
Besides, 1.42s would be too fast anyway.
I believe, IMO, bullets should never catch up target with that speeds (both 400kts) - If there would be a drag, air density and gravity properly simulated for the guns. -

What was speed that your flying?Doesn’t really matter as long as we both kept the same speeds, but if you really need to know ~ 400kts.

The bullet initial velocity for M61 is set up at 1267 m/s
I will check if code reads correctly and init correctly this value

About the muzzle velocity, Is it supposed to be set for 1030m/s instead of 1267 m/s?Note that if you fire at 500kts , that the initial velocity relative to ground will be 1517 m/s already
That is why we test it in relation to the other plane with the same speed and not to the stationary object in the ground.

M61A1/M61A2 20mm Gatling Gun Velocity
Have you noticed one thing about F-16 Gun that is extremely “different” in BMS, especially if you like BFM and tries different platforms sometimes?
I and many others did, so here I’m trying to rise the voice for them and maybe, just maybe, point out something here in this post, which seems to be not “as real as it gets” in BMS, at least in my opinion.
But, hear me out.
I’ve been around flying sims for ages now, but mostly it was/is Falcon BMS, because of the F-16. Recently though other platform bring us almighty Viper so I give it a go and tried it - just to see how it feels.
Btw this thread is not about comparison, we all know what SIM is better and why it is Falcon.
Anyway, first thing I’ve noticed was difference in bullets velocity. They were so damn slow, I was surpriced that I had so many time to react or jink for the upcoming threat, unlike BMS where you feel like dodging star wars laser beam instead. So damn fast boi!
It made me think about real life data, therefore, we did some tests, but before that we looked for rl specifications of the M61A1/M61A2 20mm Gatling Gun Velocity and checked the muzzle velocity,Test conditions:
Both Vipers with the same heading, SAME SPEED!, same altitude, 1 NM separation and spray the guy until out of ammo.
Turns out that in BMS bullets are almost double fast!? 1 NM for a 1.14s!
Now according to rl data it should be almost 2x slower. Right?
Not to mention drag, air density, gravity which should slow it down even more.Is there something that we are missing here or…?
