Sorry Orffen - just seen your response to my original post before I edited it to change the question as you had answered the first one in an earlier response on this thread.
Its arrived so will have a go tonight. Thanks again - already seen I cant use the hat on the throttle without mods so looking forward to sorting that.

Version 9 updates:
- Updated keybindings for Falcon BMS 4.35.1
Just wanted to thank you Orffen for putting this together.
T.16000M Flight Pack just been delivered so will try the install/setup from your first post tonight. Can I still launch using the alternative launcher after using the keyfile/config changes from your post or do I need to go in using the original .exe?

RE: Newbie player
Hi fotisafe and welcome.
As you can see one of the most valuable bits of BMS is this community forum - the guys are a great support.
I’m only a few weeks in as a new member, and played falcon 4.0 back in the day.
For what it is worth I am using and sticking to 4.35 U1 (the most recent as of this post) and run Balkans U1 as well. I haven’t yet got as far as MP yet (but can’t wait) and it has taken me four weeks to be able to ramp start a cold F16, bomb a nearby (stationary) target and land without issue whilst keeping to the training guidelines - and a lot of the hours to get that far just reading the manuals - but it is so worth it, that can’t be overstated.
Just wanted to share I hope I have got the attachment right - it was shared with me in my first weeks and is a big help in understanding acronyms whatever doc you are reading without having to page back through to find the original explanation. -
Harrier Flap Noise
Hi - using 4.35 U1. Just trying basics with the Harrier and notice in both Korea and Balkans (using version for U1 update) the flaps seem to be making a constant ‘boing’ sound (not the best description :-)) - noise is considerably louder in the balkans pit than in korea using alt launcher for both.
I can live with it - just love the aircraft too much not too - but the noise seems to come from flaps jumping from 21 to 22 degrees (top right green text) and then when cruising with 0 deg flaps still happens. Is there a key stroke I could use to stop the noise/workaround.- does the harrier perform differently in different theatres? I am assuming it shouldn’t but wondered with the volume difference.
Thanks

RE: Balkans Theater for Falcon BMS 4.35
How long should the download normally take? - right clicked and forced chrome to allow but only have 120mb of 2gb after 30 mins and estimate flicking from 5-10 hours. Anyone has any tips/alternatives or do I just need to leave it. Thanks.
EDIT: Took just over 4 hours to download - if this is normal for the link no worries. Thanks to all who developed it - looking forward to trying the campaigns.

RE: BMS 4.35 U1 - How to Express the Appreciation?
Forum member for only a few weeks - less than 10 hours flight time in BMS - (most of that spent on the ramp grinning at the 3D pit and flicking switches I shouldn’t be) - owned Falcon on first release. Over 20 years later I immediately benefitted from 4.35 when I joined, and I have just re-flown a simple dogfight and AG strike TE i’ve set up to practice using TE and flight basics and benefitted yet again from a tangible increase in performance on my less than suitable laptop due to U1.
DEVS - I hope the knowledge your commitment to BMS is more than enough motivation to keep this rookie pushing through the learning curve gets somewhere close to letting you know how much it is appreciated. -
RE: Abort status and not enough time to task a flight in TE
Can’t tell you without the mission flies to be able to examine the TE, how it has been build and what are the time set.
At least a screenshot of the TE starting point showing the Map clock and the Frag (mission Fragment list on the left).
Thanks for the response Dee-Jay - I’ll start a new one and see if I can replicate both issues then screenshot/attach the mission file.

Abort status and not enough time to task a flight in TE
Hi - set up a simple mission on the TE to practice CCIP on a bridge. Ran the mission 10 times or so - came back to it last night and in the left pane it said it was ‘aborted’. What have I done to abort it please? - if I manage to get back on the ramp (with or without actually hitting the bridge :-)) i use the end option after escape rather than discard.
I couldn’t work out how to get round the ‘aborted’ issue which wouldn’t let me run the mission so I deleted it and started again. Then setting up same parameters in a different region/airport after creating and locating the squadron, creating a package and then trying to add a new flight I got a pop up saying ‘not enough time to task this flight’ (or similar to that).
I checked the takeoff and time on target were both correct and later than the clock top right but it wouldn’t have it.
Pressed ‘restore’ assuming it would ‘clear’ the TE and tried again from scratch - same pop up. Walked away - made a cup of tea - came back - rebooted and tried again - this time no issues.
I am a noob to BMS (but loving the learning curve and making tiny advances in knowledge then trying them out) - and I am reading the manuals section by section (if not understanding everything) and I have watched Max’s vid on TE use - but couldn’t even find these issues raised in other BMS forums after a good google search - could anyone tell me what I have done to trigger both the ‘abort’ and ‘not enough time…’ conditions please - and with the ‘abort’ is there a way of recovering the mission rather than me deleting it.
Thanks -
RE: Keystroke map for indexing comm1 preset channels
Thanks for responses Stevie/Oak - both really helpful. I realise cycling waypoints/UHF channels doesn’t warrant using up a precious Joystick button so either method you have shown will be better than what I was doing.

Keystroke map for indexing comm1 preset channels
Realise I am asking for a well deserved RTMF but I can’t seem to find a suitable callout to map to joystick to cycle preset comm1 channels up.
I have tried using CTRL+ Shift A (UHF Preset Channel Cycle Up) and mapped one for down on my joysitck. But I can’t seem to get it to work.
What I was after was the same as Z and X for cycling waypoints - I have tried pressing Comm1 button using mouse in the 3D pit and moving the ‘brackets’ to the Preset line on the UHF screen before using CTRL+SHIFT A e.t.c. and if I press enter after it doesn’t change the channel preset.
I can do it using the training manual method eg comm1 button enter channel number using pad into scratch then hit enter e.t.c.
Thanks in advance.
PLS go easy with any abbreviations/acronyms in any responses - I’m only 1/4 way through trying to memorise the Falcon BMS Acronym Companion I was kindly linked to by a fellow forum member….
