and hopefully even from Blender
please guys, make it real! I am salivating as I type, this would open up SO MANY community created contents & mods not only for A/Cs but also ground units and even custom unique buildings

RE: 4.37 Screenshots
yes, it is as fun as removing your nose hair 1 by 1 using red-hot steel pliers. You literally need to open each dds file with an image editor, clean & color correct the image and save it again with the correct compression
It is something you can definitely do if you need a specific place to be clean of clouds, or if the imagery has some localized issue (e.g. the terrain around an airport or city usual has different colour balancing w.r.t. the surroundings), but doing that systematically by hand for hundreds of thousands of sq km’s is out of the question
That’s way the true challenge is to have access to imagery which has already been “cleaned” from the get go. Several paid providers do that of course, as they have many raw satellite sources to chose from they can also guarantee a maximum % of cloud coverage for each unit of surface (0% is out of the question, unless you are taking picture of the Gobi desert there will ALWAYS be clouds). Free providers such as bing maps, google maps, ARCGIS/ESRI etc give you whatever they have available, you can check on their website if you want
there is also the non-trivial issue of image “stitching”, which many online services do when they use a mix of different sources in the same small area, resulting in pictures which clearly show patches of a few dozen square km’s with wildly different contrast and saturation all close together.
Exhibit A

RE: Thrustmasters F16 TQS
“a bit pricy” is like saying that the sun is “a bit warm”. Even after EU import fees, Winwing is still far less expensive than 499€

Theater development will reset to 0 in a couple months from now except the ones officially part of BMS team
uh-oh, I think we now know the next major update release date

RE: 4.37 Screenshots
I suspect so, yeah. Been building sceneries like this on X-Plane 10/11 for years now, and it is pretty common to have clouds splattered on satellite imagery if you do not use the correct “clean” sources
You can easily access ZL19 orthophotos (0.3m/1ft per pixel) for free online nowadays (at least for non-commercial use), the real hassle is to find GOOD ones

RE: all types of f-16's cockpit and sounds files mod
thanks man, I’ll upload the whole folder later his evening (CET+1) as soon as I’m at my main PC. If you could also explain to me in plain english what to do, I could help

RE: Israel Theater of Operations for BMS 4.37
hey, first of all let me thank you all for this amazing piece of work. The idea to put the original Iron Eagle OST in the ITO80 version is simply a stroke of genius, and immediately sent me back in the 80’s when I was a kid
I have a question/bug report tho: as you may expect I’m trying to recretate THAT mission in particular from the movie by using only F-16A & B Netz with the “correct” loadout (I know, it’s hollywood, but who cares), and I noticed that neither block 15 A’s nor B’s Netz can equip multiple Mavericks with the TER, only a single AGM65A & B can be equipped. The “standard” US F-16 block 15 in the same theater can instead equip up to 3 on stations 3&7
Mk82 bombs can be correctly equipped on TER’s on all the planes
As the movie real footage of Netz’s clearly shows (https://tenor.com/bqmGF.gif), 1986’s Israeli jets could load multiple Mavericks on stations 3&7, so I was wondering whether this is an oversight as the Netz are based on the standard US planes of that time

RE: 4.37 Screenshots
that is exactly what modern commercial image providers do. But clearly they want to be paid handsomely for their services

RE: all types of f-16's cockpit and sounds files mod
@Magnum1964 I’ve noticed that too on a Block 40
-
RE: Israel Theater of Operations for BMS 4.37
much appreciated
EDIT: I forgot to mention that maybe the Netz should also be capable to carry Python 3’s beside the regular AIM-9L & P’s, but I do not have any source on that unfortunately (only this picture with no date attached: https://i-com.cdn.gaijin.net/monthly_2022_10/image_2022-10-04_131538615.png.5c75955eb7e9076a29adf325b128e565.png). The KFIR C7 already does that in the theater, so it think it should be added for consistency

RE: all types of f-16's cockpit and sounds files mod
@sheref I have been flying a block 40 in KTO for a couple of hours and I have noticed something weird with the HUD
there is some strange effect in the transparency in the middle of the HUD itself, which makes the heading tape very hard to read. It is shaped like an half circle and also covers the airspeed tape, mach indication and part of the radar altitude reading. It does not happen with the standard textures ofc. Block 50/52 with your textures was fine

all the links in the video disappeared. It is unavailable, this topic should be deleted

RE: all types of f-16's cockpit and sounds files mod
my unfriendly comment is that they look stunning
-
RE: F-16 high res cockpit on Israel
@sheref maybe
I’d love to try out some high quality cockpit textures for F16 in all scenarions, mainly Korea, Balkans and ITO/ITO80, to see how they look

RE: all types of f-16's cockpit and sounds files mod
so, like the last time I have to say I’m really impressed with your work, @sheref
I think it has already been pointed out, but my only critique is the fact that the reflection of the canopy/ejection seat in the Right MFD should be mirrored. The pitot tube is clearly visible on the left side of the screen, should be on the right
I’m playing in 2880x1620 downsampled to 1080p with Nvidia DLDSR, looks gorgeous

RE: F-16 high res cockpit on Israel
@sheref I respect your choice
if you want to share them (with instructions on which theaters to use them), I can provide some feedback

here we go: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Y7oT6InTHU68qG_ru__Ce6Hq2AhhlSSa/view?usp=sharing
I’ve taken the full package from here, but I think these are the same A/C .dat files that you can find in the various packages at https://www.janhas.net/
