I’m having the occasional access violation ctd and have yet not found a cure. I wish you all the best in your search

RE: Saitek X-52 Profile
Ok so this is weird. I did as you advised Freder but for some reason the override commands are still mapped to Mode 1, 2 and 3?
In the options it clearly shows that they are unbind. The profile also shows the Modes as not programed. I am completely lost here.
EDIT: Nevermind I found it

RE: Falcon Keystrokes vs BMS Keystrokes
Well in the end I’ve settled for the profile from KesMonkey since it had pretty much all I need mapped in it. But I’m having a slight issue.
The overrides are mapped to Mode 1, 2 and 3. I don’t like that and would like to unbind them. The issue is I can’t since the binding is not done in the profile editor it self. I tried deleting the overrides commands from the key file but sadly it did nothing.
Can anyone shed any light on this?

RE: Saitek X-52 Profile
After giving up making my own profile for BMS I started using this one and its great once you get acquainted with it more
But I do have a few questions related to key binds.
Pressing any of the Master modes on the LCD panel does nothing for me. Likewise for some reason trying to activate any of the Master Modes trough the ICP panel does nothing?
Which key is mapped to recording ACMI?
You mapped Flaps but apparently they aren’t used
@Frederf:What airplane are you flying in BMS? There’s no flaps up/down for F-16.
Thanks for the profile KesMonkey
EDIT: I’ve found why I can’t select master modes. Its because of the override modes. The issue is even by deleting the commands from the key file the input is still there. How can I disable the Overrides modes on my joystick?

What airplane are you flying in BMS? There’s no flaps up/down for F-16.
I’m 100% sure when I was using Keystrokes.key I was able to move flaps up and down. Its been a while since I last played it so I might be wrong.

RE: Falcon Keystrokes vs BMS Keystrokes
I’ll try my luck there then. I’m missing the flaps up/down command.
Found it

RE: Falcon Keystrokes vs BMS Keystrokes
Who is this guy Kolbe I wish to thank him for creating the DX Generator.
EDIT: Can anyone tell me where I can find all the callback commands.

RE: Falcon Keystrokes vs BMS Keystrokes
Hmm, I dislike both profiles and will rather do one my self. The issue is that the namings in the DMS keystrokes are so weird and very foreign to me I will have to go back to F4 keystrokes.

RE: Falcon Keystrokes vs BMS Keystrokes
X52 no pro.
I found this profile so I think I’ll try it out since it already has all the things I need programmed in

Falcon Keystrokes vs BMS Keystrokes
Evening
I’m just about to start programing my new joystick and I want to do it the right way. I’ve always used the Falcon Keystrokes because I was familiar with them.
So should I continue on using them?
What is the difference between the two? -
RE: Trim getting stuck
Yea I’m using keystrokes.key file but I always use my mouse to physically trim the plane in cockpit. What is the difference between keystroke and BMS keys? I use the first one because its easier to understand.

Trim getting stuck
So is the trim getting stuck for anyone else. Whenever I drop a bomb and my plane starts shifting either left or right I try and trim it but the trim always goes all the way towards the direction I’m trimming my plane and gets stuck in that position and I can’t unstuck it. Is there a key to reset the trim?
What am I doing wrong?

RE: Future of Falcon BMS
F-16s are getting overhauled, as well as many other models in 4.33 !
Now you got me really excited :woohoo:

RE: Future of Falcon BMS
THe grafix in FBMS are good, not sure why some folks continue to say they are not. FSuX grafics are better but FPS are much worse. At least FBMS is coded to properly leverage the GPU, which FSuX is not.
I agree. The graphics it self are great, I only wish for low poly models to become high poly in the future. One can dream

RE: Future of Falcon BMS
I’ve learned a lot about Falcon and specially the Benchmark Sims because of this thread. Thanks to the moderators for not locking it and to all the members for not spamming it with DCS vs BMS stupidity.
forget about it , we are not a commercial company thus we dont have the ressources to pay the people that currently work on BMS.
Creating a new game from scratch would imply that most of our coders quit their current job to work full time on the new code which brings us back to € topic.
BMS is a success because we dont work for beeing paid and passion is our only dirver.
Let’s keep it like that.
I understand you and support you in any case. Thank you for all your hard work in bringing us this masterpiece. Surely you realize you are gods amongst men :bowd:

RE: Future of Falcon BMS
About kickstarter: the rights for F4 have to be purchased in the first place before launching a kickstarter campaign. There is a recent thread about that https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?19207-Crowdfund-campaign-to-buy-the-rights-to-Falcon-4&highlight=source+code … but discussions ended quickly for obvious reasons.
I wasn’t thinking on them creating a new game with the same code but create a new game with new code, and of course new name, that would work the same that Falcon BMS does. I would support them all the way.

RE: Future of Falcon BMS
The only thing I can tell you, is that BMS are not in competition with DCS and if you fly BMS, it is not (and it will never be) for its graphics compared to other commercial simulators.
You are right about that and they should not be since they are both great sims.
But some improvements in the future? … Yes, possible.
I hope so.

RE: Future of Falcon BMS
I did and nothing of noteworthy comes up, or I somehow fail to see it
But still I’m very interested of where this is going. If benchmark Sim takes it the retail road and makes a game worthy they can rival DCS, and in the process make all of us even more happy.
And if they are going to improve BMS I would very much like to know where they are headed.

Future of Falcon BMS
I’m very happy with Falcon BMS and its dynamic campaign and airports so I do wonder, what is the future of BMS? I personally would love to see those low poly models gone ( all of them ). Improved terrain with trees etc.
I’m also wondering why doesn’t benchmark sims create a new game called Falcon BMS 2 on kickstarter. I would definitely back it, hell I’d buy it again once it’s released
