Not only the U.S., in Europe too. It depends on the habits of the local Airport / Flight Club

RE: Runway Textures
I wouldn’t bother with the friction coarse too much. Two things that would come with it - like the Moiré pattern. The second thing would be to wish good luck setting the anisotrope filter right :|.
By the way - do we have any real pictures of the Taxiways/Runways of the Korean Bases?

RE: IP V6
Thanks ASharpe. It semms to be a work around and i will give it a try. But you know how it is with workarounds. It’s just another thing you have to keep an eye on, before you even get in the pit. I’m refering here also to newcomers who maybe struggle on the same thing and don’t know what maybe seems to be wrong. Of course, the problems are not based on falcon itself.
A solution within Falcon would be best, but right now it could be only mentioned on the wish list caugh caugh

RE: IP V6
@ ASharpe - Maybe, but not an option for a complete squad to go through the hassle seting up a VPN…

RE: IP V6
No need for a new thread, so i thought i reopen this one…
I’m now one of the lucky guys who is stuck with IPv6 because my ISP can’t give any IPv4 adress ranges away anymore. No more hosting possible for anybody who tries to connect with a IPv4 ISP. The only way to dodge the problem, is to host on a dedicatet Server which is connected to a IPv4 ISP.
The other way around, connecting to IPv4 is no problem, which is in some way a relief, but hosting directly from my machine is from now on a NOGO - except anybody has a go around?

RE: Runway Textures
About the stretching problem - during the OSAN Mod we encountered the same problem. Only way of fixing is remap the Model. AFAIK it could be done with the LODEditor or tolls like that, but for keeping such a high detail like posted here before, you would need more texture files which had to be added to the database. Different parts of the runway use different mapping sizes. For using the same sized textures for every runway part, you would have to remap the whole thing. Otherwise you are stuck with different sized textures for the runway (like seen before). Squeezing the texture is not an option because you would loose some detail. Not an easy decision where to go from here…

RE: PinkyandBrains Beginners guide
Don’t know if the version 12 installer has a change, but at one point you have the choice between 30 days trial or a registered copy. You have to choose the registered one, fill out all the forms to input your key… at least i had no other chance… mine is now valid for about 1078 days…

RE: PinkyandBrains Beginners guide
After you register on the website, you download the pakage. After the installation, you have to register ‘your’ installed copy (not the website registration!). You will have to start the registration with the website account you made before. After that you will recive your activation key. Otherwise you’re stuck with the 30 days trial…

RE: PinkyandBrains Beginners guide
Nice and simple. Not too much details for the start, which is a good thing. But you have to play with 3D Max and use the Tutorials that are within. The program is extremly filled with stuff that you in 80% will never use… But anyway! I’m feeling more confident with it allready. Keep it goin that way. For more detailed explenations i can pm you anyway
Am i the only one who thinks this is sticky worth? It’s a good start for every Mod beginner…

RE: PinkyandBrains Beginners guide
Great idea! I was just about to ask how to get started I have several years of experience with cinema4D, but that’s not a software for games actually. Skinning isn’t enough anymore. I hope to be able to fix some sam’s ^^

RE: OF mods: JanHas, realism patch?
Hi Jan,
really great work you did so far with the F-16 and i hope it all goes well in the right direction. As you mentioned in your last post, for making skins you should extract the wire map. Is this some kind of template you will provide with the plane? It would be great to have a texture map with a white (maybe grey) paintsheme, where only the bolts/planks can be seen. Maybe even with a little dirt map on it… I know that it’s faaaar from finishing, but maybe something to consider for the skinning part of the cimmunity
