If you are running a single monitor at 1920x1080 the 1660ti will handle it fine. I run falcon on a msi 1660 with an ancient quad core (4 thread) i5 and get 60+fps (I don’t run max particle and shadow settings). I get around 50% cpu and gpu use.

RE: What's up with those rumors
I agree an update to the terrain would be a nice upgrade, that adding more precise elevation changes would certainly make a large difference in the feeling of speed and distance to the ground. But then what to do in flatter areas? The biggest impediment to the feeling of speed and elevation, and it’s always been the case in textured ground mapping regardless of the sim, is that there is no perspective change with the texture alone. A flat ground texture does not change appreciably with perspective. The solution is populating the ground with many more 3d objects, which helps in ‘adding’ back the perspective we lose when looking things on a flat monitor.

RE: Good Quality and Good Performance Guide - NVIDIA
Would you suggest turning off focus shadows as well for additional FPS?
Yes, I found this to be effective in my pc configuration. Under shadow mapping, I only have cockpit shadows on. Any setting in the configurator that reduces cpu load (such as reduced particles) seems to help much greater than any graphics setting (in nvidia panel).
What I’d like to know is which of the following in falcon bms advanced options is hitting the cpu- shouldnt the gpu be handling all these cases now and these should actually be turned off?:
1. mipmapping
2. linear mipmap filtering
3. texel bias fix
4. textured tv/ir <–maybe don’t turn this off
