There might be an issue concerning the ME.
Editing a TE-file by opening the ATO-menu and editing the task/action of a package causes a gamefreeze. This does not happen using the vanilla BMS Launcher.

Thank you very much! A very handy and useful tool. Setup the HOTAS is now realy easy. Keep on your awesome work!

There’s some good points here, LOOPus. I don’t “hate” DCS. I’ll get a taste for F-18 avoinics (I’m kind of a Navy Puke ) so I’ll jump over and check it out. Also, a friend of mine is flying over there now, so that may spark my interest. But, I always come back, and my focus is-BMS.
Your second point is what I’m really responding to, as a contrast to BMS. Namely, DCS development does seem stuck. The DCS Hornet has been around for what, coming up on 2 years, and still no AG radar? But, that’s the choice with DCS. They seem to be pushing out planes that are half done . Yes, I know the BMS Hornet has Viper avionics. I actually am grateful for that, but that’s another story. And ,what other planes BMS has are even less modeled. But, that’s the choice, isn’t it? You take take our “BMS-ized” planes into the extensive campaign and TE structure we have, with full Manual support, AND the Community we have here. Or, take DCS jets with good but incomplete avionics simulation and drop dumb bombs on things that don’t even shoot back.
There are positives to both viewpoints.
I think, we do agree. There are goodies and shortcomings to live with or to let it be, in both sims.
For me Falcon-BMS is The “One and only Viper-Sim” with fantastic gameplay and some goodies, with shortcomings in visual. But I don´t want to complain.
DCS does not have it as a package. Perhaps it will never have this.
But it has a fantastic Tomcat, MiG-21, Viggen, A10… and hopefully a complete Hornet (and Viper) sooner or later. It will even have an Eurofighter. And for me this is an interesting point, because it will be made by Devs who obviously “live in” and work for these both sims. They can do this, and so should we be able as a community.

I am living in both worlds and i am happy to have both of them! Differences are obvious, but there is no need to be aggressive or offensive. DCS make a deal with the people and they can decide for themselves if this is worth it. I purchased the F/A 18 and the Viper and everyone can see that the workload is too much for both modules (and the other stuff). It seems that the development is stuck. So what can i do? I Spend more time with BMS. As i said i am glad to have my Falcon BMS.

Awesome videos!
Hopefully the update for the cockpit is coming soon!?
Hej mav99, first TR-flight(?) and first post. Wellcome to the show!
Thank you tbuc and Radium, now i understand…
Roger wilco!
oh, please excuse my question…
Obviously my posting seems to be very annoying (and even stupid?!), so that other users have to thank you not to answer the question…

Thank you very much for your work, Radium! I can´t wait…
Will the cockpit include the F16- HSD, FCR, RWR etc. or does it look like “original” instrumentation?

Great work! Stick, rudder and throttle are working well together and with all buttons and functions. I will change some buttons, because i own the rudder, but this is no problem anymore.
Thank you very much!

Yes, i build my own maverick-mission and checked the AGM 65D/G checklist. There is one important difference to supanovas video. After boresighting all weapons (boresighting first weapon, then next weapon/station) one can handoff all mavericks together in one step. Doing it this way i never get a failure warning after handoff.
As everyone can see here, The Viper is (one of) the most stylish AC ever. It is so well designed, a beauty!
The mavericks need a lot of time to learn and understand. Yesterday i was surprised about boresighting and handoff can be completed without any failure. no cautionlight, no errorlist. So i got one Shilka, before the SAMs got me…
Hello, it is me again!
Unfortunately Bullseye ist not my current problem… I thought AGM 65D are fun and easy, but so far they are definitely not.
There a two issues
1.
after boresighting the weapon,
SOI TGP
center Target (Ship)
TMS Down,
TMS UP
the TGP fails to handoff (“growing” box) or is often very slow/delayed.
Something wrong?
2.
The handoff at stations 3 and 7 is complete, but I can not permanently delete the failure list. The list reappears after a short time.
:dhorse:
(I swear to follow the tutorial exactly )

…it is just as simple as you say
I thought the INS was aligned, but it was not after this: I must have switched the knob back to the off-position, before set it to NAV where it belongs to. But i did not start the alignment again. I must have made this silly mistake more than once…
Thank you mates!

btw: it was great fun and satisfying to fly my first selfmade TE! It took some time to get the plane in the air (hello ATC…! ). But the flight was a dream. Destroyed two radar-sites with JDAM, rtb in bad weather conditions and landed in beautiful twilight.
I hope it is not too off topic to describe another problem here…
I’ve planned a TE that starts with a ramp start. The flight path has 9 waypoints and 2 target-waypoints stored in the DTC. After the machine is started, the DTC is loaded and the INS is aligned (?), I have the following problems.
1. The HSD does not display the flight path.
2. The HUD does not display either the FPM, the pitch scale, the heading tape, or the roll indicator. Also not when I switch the buttons on the HUD panel. Only the altitude and the airspeed scale are visible.
When the TE is started on the runway, everything is as it should be. What could be wrong?
OK,mission accomplished 3x…
I’m not sure why I was successful in the end, but i changed the order of execution intensionally (for example i set up the laser-mode first). I also made as little joystick input as possible, because it is obvious that abrupt steering could harm the target system. The result was, the target was marked properly and constantly, and good hits…
Reading the BMS training tutorial i found a clue that could be an explanation. I did not TMS down/Wide field/Curser Zero to cancel any curser slew. I did not slew the curser, but there might be a slew by the system, because i activated TGP before WP6. I try this and report tomorrow.
edit:
I followed your advide and avoided to switch between bms and the desktop (PDF). Now the TGP locked on target steerpoint, but after some time the crosshairs moved slowly away so it looses the lock (maybe movement of the joystick or the other devices are cause for slewing?). I depressed OSB CZ and the TGP locked on again for a moment, but does not stay there.
I’m done and fed up with this for the moment :blowpar:
Moving on to another TR-TE…mhh …better fly DCS Viggen to have some fun
Best Regards and THX

Hello,
I was pretty sure to solve the problem with your suggestions, unfortunately I do not succeed with both of your solutions.
first i tested to save and load the DTC (target steerpoint was designated already from last flight). Now the TGP sight locked on the target after setting to wp7, but only for a second or two, then it moved away and jumped around like crazy.
After that i tried to designate the crane with target steerpoint #15, but the TGP shows something like Nirvana.
I will try on, find the solution and report here.
Thank you mates!
