One way is to “float” the runway a fraction of an inch above the flat-photoreal. Another would be to cut out the runway shape on the flat. Another would be to use a Z-bias node to force the drawing of the runway before the flat, but that would require everything to be in one model file.

Also, Flashing or the Ant Dance can occur if your textures contain less than 4 MIP’s…there is no need to go higher than 4, that is WAY Old Skool…but not less than 4 😉
