Dang MM! That’s impressive!

Great project!
How did you make the bezel around the center display? And how will the buttons function?

The bezel was time consuming. The buttons are rectangular snap in push buttons I got off of Amazon. Very inexpensive. The button caps were red, so I took them out and painted them gray. I used a piece of 3/8" plywood. I cut out the notches for each button with a jig saw and file so the buttons would snap in somewhat snug. The screen is a 10.4" LCD that I removed from it’s fame. I recessed the wood frame a small amount to accommodate the LCD. I could not use a router to set it in because the back of the LCD was not flat all the way around, and there were connections on one side. I used some furniture clips on the back to hold it in snug. To hide the LCD frame on the front I used a piece of thin rubber matting that I cut small strips and glued them on. It isn’t real professional looking, but it is functional and will look better once I get everything trimmed up and painted, which I am getting real close to doing.
Off subject a little, I accidentally put the two small left eyebrow indicator boxes in the wrong place, so I had to remove them and switch them. Just in case someone noticed that

Thanks, I count 21 buttons around the screen (8 - 5 - 8 ). How will they function in relation to the screen info?
-
Sorry for the delay in replying. There are actually 26. 8 on each side and 5 on the top and bottom. I am using X-Keys to program the buttons, and CPD software from Lightening to control the CPD functions.

It’s been a few weeks since I posted any pics. I lost the USB cable to my camera. I have a new one coming tomorrow. I have moved the pit into the den and have it up and running about 98%. No paint yet. I decided to put that off because all it has done is rain here for a month. And way too hot to be working out there anymore. I have a big piece of plastic I can slide under the pit and paint it in the air conditioning. I have been itching to fly, so I set it up. I am having a test flight with my Wingies tonight, and will post some pics tomorrow night.

Looking forward to seeing them.

How’s the old 20th doing MM?
-
-
20th is slow right now because we are all busy doing things. But things will pick up soon hint hint Here are a couple of pics. I had a problem with my SSD and am now doing a total reinstall and programming. What timing. I will post some more pics later.
Yes that’s my Golden Retriever Brinkley licking his privates

I thought it was two dogs fighting to see who gets into the pit.
-
Nice dog!

Well my first flight with the wing went boom. All kinds of PC issues. Found out my Cougar is bad. After a week of messing with it, I got it working with a spare Cougar stick I had. But no FCC3. Also, my SSD crapped out and I lost everything. I hadn’t backed it up yet :uham: So, I am in the process of reinstalling and reprogramming everything again.
-
That sucks, for for your bad luck and i need to make a backup!
-
I have been so busy catching up on things around the house, I haven’t had time to update my status. I may be painting the pit this weekend. Pics to follow, and maybe a video in action. I have actually flown a couple of times. Just a couple of minor issues with a rotary encoder and one switch. Other than that, everything is working good. All the AIC stuff is working great, lights, Engine Gauges, Fuel Flow and Fuel Quantity working fantastic. Arend you make some great stuff there buddy. Anyone starting a pit project should definitely consider his setup at Vipercore.nl. Very easy to install and use. And his support when you need help is excellent. Also the stuff from Mike at Viperpanels.com makes all of Arends stuff look great. His panels are beautiful. Well, back to work

Thanks for keeping us in the loop and glad to hear you only had minor issues.
